Well, well...taking a break from the political forums ;)

I just saw this new Flatscreen from LG, it's called Flatron 1910P...on paper it looks amazing:

* Size 19"
* Contrast 700:1 (!!)
* Brighntess 300:1
* Response time 16ms (!!)
* Viewing angles: 176/176 deg. hor/vert.
* Pixel pitch 0.294mm x 0.294mm
* S-IPS (Super In-plane Switching)
* 3H (hard coating) Antiglare surface
* Analog + DVI-I inputs
* Portrait function (90 deg. turnable)
* TCO '03

Does anyone own this jewel or has heard/seen any reviews on it yet? It seems like there's not much info around....but i'll definately keep an eye on it. I need to get rid of my CRT before my eyes burn from inside-out :(

Anything on price?

16ms LCD displays sacrifice color. A 20ms LCD can display 16 million colors onscreen while a 16ms LCD will display 260k colors. Sacrificing color hues to produce faster responses on the liquid crystal.

This is the case with AU Optronics panels...who knows maybe LG developed their own, or there is a new technology from AU.

The price is about 800 Euro, across the pond this translates to ~$900

The other one i was looking at was the Samsung Syncmaster 191T, which has 25ms response. Definately cheaper than LG, but lame gaming performance.

I haven't seen any 16/20ms displays bigger than 17" yet, so that's why my heart jumped when i heard about this LG 1910P.

300:1 brightness isn't all that great. 400:1 and higher will give you a nice, bright, crisp picture. I'd sacrifice a bit of size for the better brightness. I'm pretty sure there are some reasonably priced Viewsonic panels that offer many of the same features.

from what i heard, contrast is more important for fast action gaming. 700:1 contrast is the highest i have ever seen so far, btw. 300cd/m2 is also very good brightness man...

I forgot to mention it also has a USB hub :)

Somehow there are no details on the worldwide site, i only found it on the german site?!? :

Must be really new...

PS - found something "closer" on the UK site:

it's getting more interesting...on the LGE site i found another 2 (!?) models that look the same, but called different:

The Flatron 1910B @ http://www.lge.com/c_product/pc/monitor/flatron/products/product_more.jsp?prod_code=0000000116&prod_r_cate=010200&prod_s_cate=010207

S-IPS Panel w/16ms response time

...and

Flatron 1910P :)
http://www.lge.com/c_product/pc/monitor/flatron/products/product_more.jsp?prod_code=0000000115&prod_r_cate=010200&prod_s_cate=010207

they changed the response to 25ms, and state it has a MVA panel...
