Just a dumb thought, I was curious how many on this forum do or don't.

I do and have since about 7th grade.

Ah yes. I edited the poll.

The deal with my eyes: I was born cross-eyed (at least it appeared cross-eyed--actually saw normally), got surgery to fix that, but I still only see out of one eye at a time. As a result, I have no binocular depth perception (any sport except like ping-pong is COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE, which explains why I got into video games) and wear a contact only in my right eye, which is my crappy eye. Left eye is 20/20, but they want to make sure my right eye doesn't become lazy.

It blows, but meh, I can drive, so I'm not complaining too much.

Yup, considering that LASIK surgery though. Turns out I qualify so if I can cough up the 2K I'll be glasses free pretty soon.

No fix for it--just see out of one eye at a time (it's goofy) and don't have binocular depth perception (doubly goofy).

I used to have great eye sight until about the 7th grade when I was an idiot. I started putting other people's glasses on to just joke around and some friends and I would have contests to see who could look into the sun or lights in general the longest(:rofl)

so yeah, I have to wear glasses once in a while now. I got a couple thousand $$$$'s in my bank account so I am just thinkin' about the LASIK.

my poor poor eyes, knowing me, I'll probably stare into the laser and burn my eyes :p

That kinda reminds me of a Dilbert episode where this eye was getting his eyes lasered, when a massive (Dogbert inspired) power surge hit.... burnt to a crisp!!!

******* that's a rip-off!!!!!

One of the better optometry clinics in Florida is in the same town I live in, and they want 800 bucks for the procedure. Good luck

I wear contact lenzes now, but i did vote yes

The reason i switched to contacts back then was because i wanted to get rid of the 'O-O'

Used to have excellent eyesight but being a nightowl and reading alot caused it to dwindle considerably. I've been nearsighted since the 7th grade but, back in 1992, my last pair of glasses broke and I've never been able to really afford replacements. Okay, that's not entirely true - If I could afford my computer addictions and a PS2, I could afford freakin' spectacles. :)

Fast forward to now, my eyesight has gotten much worse. When I play SOF2 and get owned by noob campers or fail to win an easy fight, someone might say, "Are you blind" and I usually respond with "doh" or "<---- cg_cateracts 1" :D

I guess I just was never motivated to get a new set over the years. I can make out most things up to a distance of 10-20 feet except for printed text (which goes blurry at about 5 feet). Ah, hell with it - most objects and people in the world are fuglier than a mud fence in the rain so I'm not missing much! :p

sif glasses. turns out i have the best eye sight anyone could wish for. u know how u have to do that test with the letters? i can see them as clear as the biggest letter. i've had tests with my friends at school with eye sight...never lost (dont ask how we have did it, just held a book up that we've never seen and read it from a distance during class in the library). i hope my computers not gonna kill my eyes....i love them so much!

I think that is $800 an eye, when I was in Florida I heard advertisements for such procedures :retard:

I dunno, I researched it a bit when it became fashionable and found that they only guarantee 40/20 vision from it and that it can/will (I forget which) deteriorate over time.

Besides, it's like me and water-cooling....I can't do it. There's just something in me that says water and electrical devices don't go together, same way that I feel that my eye-balls and lasers weren't exactly a match made in heaven.

BTW-I'm pretty much blind as a wombat without me specs. I do have contacts, but I haven't worn them in a few years. (No time, no need...who am I trying to impress?) I'm planning on getting a GOOD set of glasses now that me kids are over their "twist Daddy's glasses" phase. (FOUR sets of glasses in the last 2 years. ) I wanna get the nice ultra-thins with total non-glare...but it sure ain't cheap!
