Strange, quite a few cards are available here surprisingly. From different manufacturers.

I guess most customers around here want the real deal and not the overpriced mid-range card :p Even though the prices came down already.

went from 499-539 CAD to 550-599CAD

CAD>USD so fail

I won't be buying anything from team green or team red until prices drop

pricing is up pretty much across the board on 7970's as well, to be fair.

Good to know. Did you change something? Didn't that fix crash the game the last time for you?

It was an issue with the installed game. I just did an integrity check on all the files and that fixed it. :)

So it's just as easy to use and as reliable as Haydens fix?

That's a big Yes :D

Fantastic!

But next on my list is Mass Effect 3 ;)

Yeah, that does look good

Nice Lee I only game at 1080, so I think one card will be fine, I was able to max out BF3 with a 7950 @ 1100/1575..even with 4 MSAA. so I'm sure a 680 will do better.

I'm thinking on picking up Skyrim, how does it look and run maxed out with AA ?

Skyrim plays really well with the 680's. You'll need a couple of mods to make it look really nice though.

At 1920x1080 it will. My 2 cards run it fine at 6000x1200 :), so yours will run 1 monitor easily.

I don't know what mods ya'll are talking about, but I presently have about 10 mods installed, some to improve the graphics, and it plays fine on my single 5870. See no reason why it wouldn't on a GTX 680. :)

Mostly i just use the mods in the Skyrim thread. There was the HD mod and a half dozen others.

Mine showed up earlier this week. Thing is FAST...and QUIET!! So much quieter than my OC'd 470's were and also very little heat output. Very impressed. The lack of noise and heat alone was practically worth the upgrade.

Right now, I've got the maximum overclock boost set at 1325mhz on stock voltage. I ran the crysis and farcry 2 benchmarks several times as well as about an hour of skyrim and diablo III beta last night to test stability. So far so good.

do they do anything functional or just look cool? disappate heat?

I'm not really sure to be honest.

They help a little with heat, and they stiffen the card, which is useful with heavy heatsinks.

I might get another later on, I guess it all depends on how Metro Last Light runs...I want to run that game as close to max settings as I can.
