I got no problems with that...it means I'm much more likely to be an immediate upgrader. :)

In the meantime, this sys is certainly fast enough. anything I need I can get from a new vidcard anyway

According to that, they've only been moved to 1H03
Which could mean anything.
I heard Intel won't let them use SSE2 until 2003, so I wouldn't be surprised if thats the reason...at least on one of them.

Oddly enough, that roadmap still lists Barton as a 4th->1st, so it could still come out as planned.

nothing really surprising here, we already knew that Clawhammer would be pushed back to Q1 03. and since AMD's roadmap had Barton arriving already when it clearly wasn't out, it looked like it would be pushed back to Q4.

now it's just official and we don't have to speculate :)

I didn't think they would go 333fsb (and revised Thoroughbred core) unless there was a compelling reason to and now there is.

So small wonder. Just means I can forget Barton now and look instead at either Palomino (1600XP overclocking great these days as long as you get the right core) or the revised Thoroughbred (whenever it comes).

I wonder though, which should I look at? Anyone with opinions because those 1600+ XP's cost only 50 bucks and usually can be given the 333 fsb easily or more most times (up between 1700-1900 mhz). Or wait for a 2400+ that will overclock much higher, but cost a lot more, too? Hmmm...

Anyone with an opinion?

Currently, I have an Athlon XP 1800+ bought at the end of last year.
