Computer Lounge has just listed them, $2,499.00!!!!!!!!!! that is insane!! I really don't know who would buy these because you can have 2 x GTX 680s and save yourself over $500.00.
Sure the card looks nice but its not worth that amount of money.

Wow, that's just insane. I would rather buy 3 680's for that. In fact I could have for $200 more. That is just highway robbery.

I see newegg had at least a few ,but for $1200 that is pretty ridiculous. You know it basically a papper launch. And you have to be pretty well off to drop $1200 on a Card when two GTX 680's can be had for a $1000 which is still crazy. What I want to see is a GTX-670 and hope it is like the GTX-470 was to a GTX-480.Plus I would like to see them be agressive and sell them for $349.I know I am dreaming they can't even keep the GTX-680's in stock and if you do find one they have uped the price to $649.They are saying the GTX-670 is supposed to hit the shelves on May 10th.There is a lot of places saying it .I will believe that when I see it actually in stock at $399 and not $500.I might get a couple of those if there performance is great or just wait untill the end of the year since I have three GTX-470 I run at 775mhz/1775mhz at 1.037 and the fans set at 75% so it is torlerable as for as the sound.and just hits 72c with 3DMark11 http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3350665
and 72c in 3DVantage-http://3dmark.com/3dmv/4064983
So they are fast enough to hold me over if they start out to pricey.

But with the 690, nV is miles ahead of AMD when it comes to smoothness and playability with Multi-GPU solutions!

Seems that link doesn't tell the whole story as they only show 20 frames. Looks like it can smooth some frames but to a limit then you get a few high ms frames.

I wouldn't even call it better than crossfire right now which can be known to be pretty stuttery sometimes. Honestly, if you are so worried about microstutter go with 3 cards as having 3 can get near single card levels of microstutter.

I disagree. Microstuttering with Tri-SLI was much worse than with SLI even though I had the higher framerate with Tri-SLI. Clear Sky was a game that really suffered from this.

Must be an SLI thing then. With 3 cards in crossfire microstuttering pretty much disappears completely. I have proven this with my own testing and other websites have tested it too with the same results.

Interesting. Can you post a link to those articles please?

Only with 6800's

Main thing I noticed going from 3 6970's to 3 7970's is just how much more smooth they are. It has also gotten much better since launch drivers.

And my own results:

Only 0.820ms frametime variation.

What a joke!

I guess I'll import or just get 2x680GTXs. Or wait and see what comes of this (http://www.kotaku.com.au/2012/04/australian-government-goes-ahead-with-price-inquiry-into-the-cost-of-techgames-in-australia/).

I should check the pricing in Hong Kong. My sister is going there soon.

How about one for me huh? ole buddy ol' pal of mine??? HAHAHAHA

Glad I can help..the only problem is the brick and mortar shops have a 7 day return policy. If the card is screwed when they reach AUS, you may be screwed.

For all defects after 7 days, you have t deal with the local distributor

So in the long run, may be better to get in AUS for piece of mind

7 days? ::(:

Oh well, it'd be a risk to import from anywhere really. Ah well, no rush. Just have to keep an eye out. ::;:

It's rediculous... 1x 690 is quite literally 2x 680's... So it costs another $200 more than 2x 680's!

and It's a tad slower.

I'm hoping those are silly Gigabyte prices. The Gigabyte 580 had a premium back in the day also.

They know the demand is there so they're taking advantage, just as they are with the 680's... If they didn't they'd be selling the same amount of them for less profit.

680's are $150+ more than 7970's now... so stupid.
