Looks like a Quadro card because of the dual-DVI. NV40GL?

The NV card looks like it has a 128bit memory bus by the layout of the ram chips, maybe it's a NV36 without it's hsf on? And with some funky GDDR3 stickers on the memory for effect?
And the ATI card looks like it's using a PCI bus, could it be a board based around a mobile solution?

Do you necessarily have to have the traditional number of chips (16, I guess) for a 256-bit memory bus?
No it can be any combo, 4x64bit (2) = 256bit or 8x32bit (2) = 256bit. this for the the front then the same for the back depending on size of memory needed and cost. Also the ATi card maybe PCI Express 16x.

These aren't new cards or gpu's; they're mock up's to display the new gddr3 memory.
The memory supposed to run at 800 mhz and be in volume production in time for the nv40 and r420. :D
mmmmmmm..... bandwidth :drooling:

Yeah I believed so. When NV30 and NV35 first pictures leaked both showed the chips marked with NV30GL and NV35GL. It look certainly the chips first made for professionals and later for consumers.

I disagree, if these are not mockups, maybe graphic card companys realized people want DUAL dvi!

Think about this people...why on earth would NVIDIA and ATI want to show off their entirely new architectures before their next products for this season are even announced? Even more importantly, why would they choose a VIA event to do so?
That story over at the Inq had me rolling my eyes...

Pelly, please stop being right all the time. It makes certain others feel inadequate. ;)
(By the way, I'm going to shoot you an email on a completely unrelated matter as soon as I get the chance.)

LoL...fire away Baron...
If you get it to me before Saturday, I'll be able to respond quickly...otherwise, it won't be until next Friday ( Honeymoon! ) :D
(thinks of a way to get this back on track...)
Er....so do you guys think the next-gen from NVIDIA or ATI will have dual-DVI offered? ( To be honest, this is up to the graphics card vendors and not NVIDIA and ATI themselves ). Regardless, it seems like it would be a great feature...

There will be a few... but not too many. Producing a dual-DVI card with two VGA adapters would probably add a slight amount to the price, but I'd like to see some. Dual-DVI would be Very Nifty.
(and I'm going to send that email right now ;) )

"Dynamic Overclocking"?!?!
(BTW-Good luck on the wedding/honeymoon Pelly, just to keep it a little off-topic.. ;) )
I'm so tired of people getting in a frenzy over dynamic overclocking, a feature which has... no value whatsoever. How is this any different to just clocking your card as high as it can stably go?
Oh, wait. None.

Agreed.
It'd be more interested in dynamic UNDERclocking myself - if the game is playing smoothly, why should I waste good energy on getting more FPS? To make my room hotter maybe?
Although I guess what most people call dynamic "overclocking" includes that - it's just I prefer to see it this way :D

So basically, Uttar, you would like to see mobile GPU tech integrated into desktop GPUs.
Interesting. Not a bad idea, either, especially as power consumption and thermal output increases.
