If so at what price point, see pole... all "opinions" are welcome:

If not, then pls recommend the best alternative for same game type, I'm thinking Torchlight 2 although I didn't really dig the cartoon graphics of part 1...

I haven't played D3 yet so I can't comment. I suggest you try Path of Exile.

I recommend Titan Quest.

Yes, I loved that game... have you actually played D3?

Diablo 3 is the biggest letdown this year for me ...

The Game is truely build around the Auction house... The game is not based on skill its based on how much gold/money you wanna spend

I can't exactly tell you personally, as the current laptop I have won't run the thing, without hacking it to run with Intel gfx, and doing such, it runs 4-6 fps and I lag so far behind any group playing, I'm still running up as they're killing. I gave up after about a day. Until a new computer I ordered arrives in a couple weeks, can't really say more, except this.

Someone I know, had also got this, and after about a week or so of playing he said he'd rather play Diablo II, then this. He was extremely disappointed that he waited so many years, for it.... I got it through the annual pass, so other then a $5 I put down (which I never followed through on, due to the annual pass) haven't really payed extra for it. They did offer me the beta, after i had loaded the MoP beta and had a number of bugs to report to them with that, but then again it wouldn't load.... Anyhow, there you go, from what I've been hearing thus far, albeit it is second hand....

Diablo 3 is my least favorite in the series but I still have gotten 50+ hours out of it. It's good value. I still don't like how you need to be online to play solo and lag spikes = death.

For the same price of Diablo 3 you can buy Titan Quest Gold, Sacred Gold, Sacred 2 and Torchlight 2 togheter.

this vid and the following two sums up pretty good of what is wrong with diablo 3 (difficulty, gear, story etc). Worth a watch imo.

What kills the enjoyment for me though is the constant nerfing. I dont see much point in playing anymore only to find what i used today will be worthless tomorrow. It baffles me even more now that the money auction house is up.
Blizzard is essentially putting band-aids on a broken leg.

DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP. I have no idea why this piece of **** got so high review scores on many game review sites. I really enjoyed Diablo 2. Come one, after fu**cking 10 years, almost same graphic (how can this be?), same game playing style. This is the biggest letdown. I believe Blizzard just wants to make quick money on this. I am pissed off.

If you were a fan of D1 and / or D2 then yes.
If you are like me and never got into it then no. I bought into the hype and purchased it. Yeah... nah. waste of $80.

Well if you can sell gold on the rmah, then it might not be a loss... And I think this is the first time I have ever posted that; previous to this game gold sellers were kinda bad, spam bots, hackers, and the like. Bliz made it an official part of the game now, so one can post this totally within their EULA :o

In a few weeks, I'll probably load it and take a look myself, but from what some friends have said, kinda glad I got it from the annual pass, rather then a seperate purchase price. But haven't really played first hand, so.... The new lappy is scheduled to arrive by Fed Ex on July 17 though, so will be a few... The current with a core 2 duo, and Intel 950 gfx (eeewwww), 2 GB RAM can't run it properly, but the new will have an i7 ivy bridge quad core, 8 GB dual channel memory, and gt 650 with a dedicated 1 GB gddr5 to pair (the current laptop has no dedicated video memory, and yes not the most powerful card out there of the current crop, but it is a laptop so there's power and temp considerations, etc... It'll still be a massive upgrade, especially for a portable computer)...

I just played through it on normal. I had a lot of fun. Not sure how long it will last but it was a fun game to play through the first time.

Beat inferno diablo...and I may give up playing much more, it's an AH game now, you don't get good drops at all from anything. Heck INFERNO DIABLO gave me a lvl 55 rare...I mean cmon blizzard...

D3 is still fun for me but all my characters are still in nightmare mode. It's not until you get into hell and inferno that gold farming and auction house gear starts coming into play and the flaws start to surface.

Aside from that, the game mechanics for combat and movement and the environment are all incredibly well polished (skill balancing aside) Far more satisfying than the combat in path of exile.

For me though, POE has more depth to the gameplay and more thought put into the end game, no auction house, etc.

I paid for the full time beta access for that one and don't regret it. It's very slow and sluggish combat and carries the same type of clunkiness as Diablo II has.

torchlight 2 though is going to own everything I believe. I've preordered that one as well and the combat, and everything in that feels incredible.

Yeah TL2 looks great, it's like a much more polished TL1, which wasn't bad. I hope the endless dungeons go away though, those seemed to make the game rather boring. But I can't wait to play TL2 with friends though, blizzard almost had a great game, but they failed. They even said so in a blue post not long ago, talking about, "no end game."

What was WOW blizzard? Was it a dumb experiment??????? Can't they learn from their biggest cash cow almost 10 years old??

d2 didn't really have end game, but then again over the years we've sort of come to expect it from a multi-player game. Either that, or if they followed Quake's example and allowed moding, then it would open the possibility for 3rd party developers to create a bunch of sub-games using their own engine, which is how CTF, Team Fortress, and others got in there ages ago...

But, and probably from their perspective, there would be a difference. Diablo III you purchase once, and they made their money. After this, the only impact on sales (aka their bottom line) is how word of mouth effects future sales of those who haven't bought it yet. WoW is subscription based, so if 80 or 90% of the player base got bored and stopped their monthly subscriptions (at least for a time), this would make a dent in their bottom line, as they will not have collected all the money they were going to, from each player, already.... Certainly not what customers always want to hear, but there could also be a matter of cold, hard, business involved wrt consideration for the longevity of the game before players grow bored.

Down the road though, whether there will be a 4 or not, would partly depend on demand yes; but then do they want to make a 4? Not sure there.... The devs themselves might have grown bored (hence the 10 years or so since d2), but given player expectation and anticipation there wouldn't have been a way to flat out say "we're really not interested", and still looked responsive to their customers in stating that....

The game is too easy throughout all of Normal and Nightmare, making it tedious and boring after (or maybe during) the first character you run though. Hell is kinda-sorta tough occasionally but not really. Inferno is just boring. The boss fights are all the same. It's the champion packs that are a pain. Oh and all champ packs have enrage timers now so if you get a rough combo (like health link/waller/shielding/mortar, or basically anything which keeps you moving and prevents large amounts of damage) you will actually be killed by the game, if nothing else, for taking too long. This is implemented in the form of a DOT which kills you quickly and stays on you even after resurrection if you approach the mobs again. If this happens your options are limited to rerolling, playing HC, or buying upgrades on the AH. RMAH most likely, since the GAH is so inflated it's impractical. Or maybe farm gear in act 1 and hope you get lucky enough to find something worth selling. Chances are, you won't.

I haven't played in a week and frankly I have no desire to. Made it to Act 3 Inferno on a witch doctor (which is the worst class in the game, don't play one).
