From the link on the front page MSN messenger closing down 14th Oct (http://apnews.excite.com/article/20030924/D7TOEPD80.html)

The changes will take effect Oct. 14, Microsoft said Tuesday in an announcement from Europe.

In most of its 34 markets in Europe, Latin America and Asia, Microsoft MSN has chosen to simply shut down the service,

So I guess Im asking, which messenger should i change to? I used to use ICQ, are there any others better? and dont say AOL ;)

Thats pretty strange on MSN part, seems like a big shot in the foot. They will just run to another service. Anyway they have a universal IM program, I forgot the name but its compatable with all the current ones. Someone please throw him the name I forgot it. Also try AIM.:)

I never used MSN. A long time ago in a far away galaxy I used ICQ. Until it became a buggy piece of **** called ICQ'99.

Ever since I have used AIM because of its simplicity.

I'm pretty sure it's only the chat rooms as well. But if you want to change messenger clients, Trillian (http://www.trillian.cc) is the way to go. It supports AOL, MSN, ICQ, IRC (buggy) and Yahoo all in one. Fantastic piece of software. I use the free version because I only need it for ICQ and AIM. It's stable and ad-free.

Thanks for the feedback, I only think of messenger with MSN, chat rooms wtf are they lol jk

Ive never used chat rooms, so I dont really think of them, I use only MSN now as all my clan does, wife, inlaws etc and MSN6 is actually really good IMO.
