Radeon 8500 MAXX
How can it be a MAXX when it has "and an R200-class ASIC"??? That hints as 1 to me.

oh well, it could very well be the r350 maxx.
actually there is an engineering sample / beta version of the Radeon 8500 MAXX. I saw it on ebay once, and I reported the seller to ebay saying he was trying to trick people with something that doesn't exist. It turns out EBAY investigated it and the seller was able to produce futher evidence that he REALLY DID have the card to sell. He provided even more photos with him holding the card, and guaranteed the real deal. Very interesting

I'm not contesting the fact that R200 Maxx boards don't exist. It's common knowledge that Evans and Sutherland www.es.com use dual and quad R200 boards in their 3D simulators. Just that the driverheaven quote seems to suggest it has only 1 ASIC, so probably isn't a MAXX. However I think it is a MAXX but isn't worded very well. :)
