I'm going to be upgrading the family computer from the piece of crap that it is:D and I was wondering what video card to get for it. I'm willing to spend around £165/$275

I've been looking at the All-in-Wonder 9800SE 128MB (http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=52461)

The Sapphire Radeon 9600PRO 128MB DDR (http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=48722) or the Hercules 3d Prophet 9600 AGP 8x 256MB (http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=51528). Hopefully the system im building should last for quite a while now, XP 2700, 512mb pc2700. So of course I'm looking for the best bang for the buck:D

What's the family computer going to be used for? If it's going to be primarily web surfing with some video editing thrown in, you probably only need an AIW 9000 Pro. If it's going to be light gaming, a 9600 Pro would be best. If it's going to be pretty intense gaming, with video editing, etc, then you'd want an AIW 9800.

AIW 9600pro released today afaik.. from front page...

should perform about the same as the 9800SE... can also buy it with the new remote wonder and it comes with dual monitor support (vga only though.. not dvi)

its a decent deal...

It will be used for gaming, not extreme gaming like I do though which is why I decided not to stick a 9700 pro in there (plus the price issue:D)

I am:p but like most people I tend to want quite a few opinions from people on what to get:D

The 9600 AIW is looking pretty good I must say:)

Not to be a party pooper, but depending like they said, you might want to look into buying a TV wonder remote edition, then you don't have to shell out $100 extra every time you get a video card but you still get the AIW capabilities, I am going to be doing this once the remote wonder II comes out... just a thought tho I personally never could stand the idea of paying that much extra every upgrade, but of course mayhaps I upgrade more often..

Don't even think about the 9600 256MB. It's crap. They threw 256MB of there to make it seem like a decent card, which I assure you that it's not. I'd get the 9600 Pro AIW out of that bunch you mentioned, or try and get a 9800.

I'd get a seperate standalone card...
I had ATI TV Wonder before.. and the quality sucks ass... I had my digital cable hooked up to it... quality was so piss poor... I'd get the leadtek tuner.. only cost $45(cheaper than AIW addon), and the quality is better...
If you wanna spend the same amount of money.. get a happauge card.. it'll kill both the leadtek and the ati..
