View Full Version : Is the flickering problem restricted to newer cards?

I just had to fix my machine and decided to upgrade to the newest drivers. After I did, I noticed that there is a line where the map appears to be brighter. The line moves as my character moves. And before I worked on the issue, the brighter area appeared to flicker.

I tried putting anistropic filtering on 8X, but that didn't help. Also, I noted that the problem exists in more than one game.

I tried uninstalling the newer drivers and installing older drivers, but was informed the newer drivers still existed on my system.

1. Can the flickering issue happen to an old Gainward GeForce3? I have a set of stereo glasses I never use hooked up to the card. Could this be a factor?

2. If this is not the flickering issue, could someone help me completely uninstall all nvidia drivers? Is there a utility for this?

3. Also while I was fixing the computer, I tried to install DirectX 9.0b via Windows Update. The update said it was successful, but when I go back to Windows Update, it still says I need DirectX 9.0b

I have DirectX 9 something.

I really could use your help. It's midnight and I'm very tired or I would have looked up some of these things myself.
