Everyone on the forum keeps saying that the 9800np stocks are drying up is this really true? Is it just rumor? Or are they going to do like on the 9500pro? The funny thing is with the 9500pro it was actually more expensive last I looked than when I bought mine awhile back, maybe the same thing will happen with the 9800np (crosses fingers).

yes, downhere atleast. There is only one store that actually still carries them.

9800nps have been gone from most online retailers for a few weeks now. The only place left to buy them is Ebay.... and even then they are few and far between (and high priced).

Youd know if wasnt a rumor if you looked at any online stores in the past month :p

If you have a friend near a Best Buy store, you may be in luck. Several of them in my area (NYC Metro) still had 9800's as of Monday night. At $240 out the door (no rebate hassles), they're a solid deal, too.

I don't expect 9800 prices to skyrocket, but if the 9800SE sux as much as people say, they sure shouldn't go down.

Then I shall keep waiting. 9800 pro prices have to go down in a few years, hopefully I can grab one for $99 on ebay by 2007

This is really frustrating considering i really wanted one of these. I have even now started considering FX 5900 Non Ultras...

heh, for the [h] 9700P banner contest email I sent, my "thing to do" with the HUGE banner was "stick it in the great big gaping hole left by the departure of th 9800NP, it oughtta fit perfectly"... there's MY take on the situation... ;):p

Moore's Law... 2007... so, we'll have video cards approximately ten times as powerful as the R350 in 2007? Sweet.
