I have 2 computers a main computer and a second one for my kid. Anyway
I replaced the main comp. with a 9800Pro and I wanted to install the 4400Ti in the second comp. but when I did it said something like, boot disc not found insert cd. I had no problem with this card until now. Any ideals? I put the Geforce 3 back in and it booted ok.

System Spec's:
GA-7dxr
1gb pc2100
AMD 2000+
Geforce 3 500Ti
p/s 300 watts
hhd's raid 0
cd rom
Win XP

300W Power supply might not be enough with other stuff you have. Whats combined wattage on 3.3/5v rails?

I agree with the PSU suggestion. Radeon 9800 Pro draws about 50 W all by itself.

I had a WinXP MP3/music server that was running off a 250W PSU. Not too hungry (CPU, DDR, case fans, temp gauge, 1 hard drive). Yet with any additional power draw from the machine (firewire drive, iPod, etc), it wouldn't boot. The error message was "boot disk not found."

I tested this EXTENSIVELY. It was caused by a wimpy power supply. Problem was 100% cured with a 350 W PSU upgrade.

We'll I tried the card in the computer at work and it worked ok.

I have to check the p/s and see if that's my problem.

At this time a don't know what 3.3/5v rails are reading.

I'll have to check them when I get home from work.
