I am having problems with 180 gigs ... its full.

I have borrowed a dvd burner from my mate and am now in the slow and painfull process of backing up all of my precious and valuable "stuff".

well, officially, i don't know how much virginia pays for this 100mbit internet 2... probably in the 5th digit/month... but downloading a full cd in 1 minute sure kicks ass :)

I'm stuck on 56k, cable is available but costs twice as much.

I'm thinking of going to a semi crappy 2gb cable package for 24.95 a month. That way I can play online games. No downloading of anything worthwhile though.

actually, i was downloading a beta xp service pack... took about 12 seconds (138MB). the guy i was downloading from works for a local ISP. not the same one the college uses (cuz it uses virginia state's internet 2). i figure virginia pays $20,000 a month for its connection. on average i get about 700k/s though.

Haven't used anything slower than 10mbit/s since ...uhm... 96 or so. :p OK, they only "promise" 500kbit/s on the current connection (a 10mbit TP wall outlet), but as long as I connect to fast servers, I've often got 7mbit/s. Paying 200SEK/moth ~=$20/month.
