As the most outspoken conservative. Shouldn't he be facing trail for illegal drug abuse?
The famed Mr. Limbaugh has been quoted as saying,
"We have to have more white convictions," Limbaugh said. "It seems to me a lot of white people are getting away, and that would make me mad. As a citizen it makes me mad. I don't care what the color of my skin is."
"It's destructive, it's demoralizing and the people who are caught doing this stuff ought to be sent away. They ought to be punished."
With that, I find it hypocritic that he isn't calling for his own conviction.
Moreover, if someone as ultraconserative can fall prey to the trap of drugs. Doesn't this point to horrid flaws in our nations drug policy?

1. He should punish himself swiftly and thououghly before someone else does :D
2. Yes there is a serious flaw in US drug policy
its easier to talk about others and their problems in a more trivial manner when you think it does not or cannot affect you... hence why a lot of loudmouths tend to blabber more than they should w/o check (bill o'reilly anyone ?)
they don't really care about the effects of their words on peoples or persons... so long as it is sensational enough to cause a furore and get their ratings up or whatever else...
ludacris/pepsi ? good job of o'reilly killing that business deal... based on hot air...
rush limbaugh's credibility is shot... his life is shot... if he wants to talk the talk than he should ideally walk the walk... but I am not sure he should go to jail... he needs to go to rehab and then go see a shrink about his holier than thou attitude :)

I doubt a shrink could put a dent in Rush's attitude problem.
I don't understand why this is a big deal to you? He is a private citizen. If he is found guilty then let the chips fall where they may. This isn't as if he was doing coke out of pleasure then formed a habit. He actualy had a problem that lead to his addiction.
Rush will prolly not face any jail time. He is most likely looking at suspended sentence for this first time offence. Now the fact he is famous does put a wrinkle in things. Prosecutors love to nail famous people because is looks good on their resume.
There isn't any hypocracy here. Rush did not say he should not face any jail time. He never said anything like that. He said he will deal with it when it come up. He said he will accept what come to him. The only people that think his credibility is shot are the one who didn't like him to begin with.

I think his mistake was waiting until someone blew the story up in the media before he looked for help. He should've came out and admitted this problem and then got help for it some time ago. It looks worse now that it's come out this way. I think most celebrities/public figures are being silly trying to hide these "skeletons" in their closets. It always seems to come out sooner or later doesn't it?

aww come on m8 :)
with all the comments he passes regularly on people and their morals/lifestyles.. you think he might not consider that he too will be held to the same standards he holds for others ?
btw I concur he will unlilkely see any jail time whatsoever...

Ok I used to listen to rush a lot around 90-95 but then got tired of him talking about hims self so much. I agree with much of what Rush says and like him but am not a fan of his. That being said Rush never claimed to be a tower of morality. He talked many times of his past devorces and said he would never run for office because of dumb things he did in the past including things like pot. I am not sure but I think he smoked pot for a short time or at least tried it. I am not sure about that so don't quote me. ;) He said many times there are things in his past he is not proud of.
My point is Rush never claimed to be a moralist. He often avoided religious arguments.

To be honest, I actually have a great deal of sympathy for him.
He should have never been released from the hospital if he was still in significant pain from his surgery. No one should.
He makes for a prime example of the failure of our medical system, and how our drug laws are applied.
His situation shouldn't exist. Irregardless of how much of an a$$ I think he is.

drug addict? Lock him up!!! :rofl
Don't care if its a white/black/yellow/rapublican/democrat/independent/man/woman/both or whatever, illegal use of drugs is illegal.

Treatment treatment treatment. The average turn-around rate in US prisons is approximately 40% Susan Turner and Joan Petersilia, The Prison Journal, June 1996
“Each year, U.S. prisons release more than 400,000 criminal offenders back to their communities. Most of those released will not remain crime-free, and national statistics show that within 3 years of release, 40% will be returned to prison or jail (Bureau of Justice Statistics, 1995)
Our prisons have become revolving doors, and drug addicts make up a significant portion. No ammount of punishment can fix a mental addiction, only treatment can. I would really prefer the American people not pay for somebody like Rush Limbaugh spend time in prison just so he can go on doing what he's addicted to. Go treatment, boo criminalization.

Interestingly enough. It appears that even if criminal charges are sought against Rush, there is little chance that he will serve time. See, the state of Florida has a Drug Court, okay? On a first offense, Florida generally tries the non-jail approach. Then again, Florida advocates even a non-jail approach if you're a repeat offender caught smuggling crack into your in-patient rehab...but I won't mention any names!!

Whatever works for the mayor of Washington, D.C., should work for Rush as well. Remember that guy? Caught with rock cocaine and a prostitute in a hotel room...then, re-elected.:D

Marion Berry, right? Yeah...I remember that fruitcake all too well. :p
You know the Justice system is screwed up in America when John Ashcroft's nephew does no jail time for getting caught with 30 or so bags of Acapulco Gold yet Tommy Chong gets 9 months for selling glassware over the Internet. ;)

I think that moron Berry had a prior though. For smoking crack no less.
I think DC should feel kind of ashamed of that whole thing in a way... They elected a frickin crackhead for mayor.
