Ah, America. The land where it's always someone else's fault.

Douglas Lowenstein, president of the industry Entertainment Software Association, called the shootings “an unspeakable tragedy” but said blaming a game played by millions for the boys’ actions was “misguided and counterproductive.”
“There is no credible evidence that violent games lead to violent behavior,” he said. “While video games may provide a simple excuse for the teenagers involved in this incident, responsibility for violent acts belongs to those who commit them.”
I would like to buy this guy dinner, drinks and any hooker he wants.

What next? Somebody who overdoses suing the makers of pacman:rolleyes:
Edit: And I bet the lawyer prosecuting doesn't even know you can't take a rifle and stand on the side of the road shooting at trucks randomly:rolleyes:
always a laugh to read...
I propose the parents also sue the lock makers since the locks obviously were not good enough to keep the kids out...
btw.. I want to know what simulator these guys used to play the game coz no controller I have used ever gives me the same feedback as a gun...
to say this is a training tool is the most ludicrous thing lol...
we could always sue the parents for being total and utter retards wrt the keeping of the weapons... and also for neglecting their duties as parents...
meh... likely to be thrown out anyways... just too stupid for words...

Yeah using a mouse hardly feels like firing a real weapon, but of course that does not matter to these idiot lawyers.

They were discussing this topic on one of the local talk radio stations this morning. The woman host was completely in agreement with us, that this lawsuit is silly and stupid. The parents darn well should have known what their kids were doing and had some kind of supervision over them.
Her co-host though was being a :retard: He was continually trying to argue that by not holding the video game companies at least partially responsible that we were denying any influence the media might have on us. If the phone to the station wasn't busy, I would have given him what-for. No one was saying the media has no influence on us, but to say that the video game was even partially responsible is still completely assinine.
Here is the sad part....well, one of the many sad parts actually.
They will get a jury of clueless dolts who can't even turn on a computer as jurors. They will award a bazillion dollars cause the boys look so nice and the big evil corporations must die for making these nice children go and shoot at people.
The kids will not do prison time, they will write a book, the movie industry will make a movie about it and they will rake in more cash.
Before long they will be worth billions.
See what you can accomplish with a rifle? Looks like the bad guys are winning, and in a big way, these days. Why should I bust my chops to eek out a meager living, when I can go get a rifle, stand on the side of the road, fire it in the air a few times, claim a video game made me do it and be able to retire a few months later?
I guess I just dunt have the stones to do it. Darn it.

If you read that article again, it looks like the last time this lawyer tried to sue the video game companies it got thrown out. Hopefully the judges in this case will look at the precedent and stick to it.
I know, but still. The keep trying, they will eventually find a nutjob judge that will hear the case and allow a jury to preside.

Still makes me wonder how they can blame it all on games/music/movies/TV/whatever except for the weapon itself ( or better, how easy it is to legaly buy a gun )
This entire gunlaw in the US is just retarted and thats whats causing all this crap.

But at the end of the day, it's a person that pulls the trigger.
Here's one. No kid under 16 can use a gun, period.
Unenforceable? Maybe. But back it up with stiff enough penalties, and parents will probably listen.

depends on the state.
You can look up that info here (http://w3.agsfoundation.com/asp/statelaws.asp)
It is the fault of the person who pulls the trigger, and if applicable, the irresponsible party that aided such a person in obtaining a firearm.

You are right that it's the person that kills and not the gun.
But the best way to stop these tragedies from ever happening is by making guns illigal to civilians ( like it is over here ) Life just gets a whole lot less messier that way.

If I ever move to America I'm going to use that map and find out the best area to get hold of guns while avoiding large spiders:eek:
That or I could blow the hell out of them with a shotgun:D

That is to true, unfortunately. It's no wonder lawyers seem to do so well around these parts then eh? ;)
Seriously though, those two kids are complete idiots. Between the two of them I'd be surprised if they had more than four brain cells. Their parents ought to be ashamed of them. If it were my kid I'd disown them over this. Absolutely, 100% retarded.

Lets see
The following numbers are all over 2001:
The number of murders in the US : 35.4 per million
The number of murders where I live : 5.6 per million ( Higher than I expected btw )
See the difference?
( yes all numbers are fair and where taken from official sources only ( like the FBI numbers ), only the murders with guns where used and the population from the year 2001 )
