auto detect is way off for me! Tells me to run 510/1000

setting at 475/950 now if i was going to suggest a "safe" overclock on these cards id recommend 450/900.

I have a EVGA Geforce fx 5900 Ultra Its currently running at ,GPU 500 MHz, RAM 850 MHz with EVGA's latest bios drivers and Nvidia's latest Driver

On my own I got
GPU 531 MHz
RAM 950 MHz

I auto detect 3 times and here is what it came up with.

Auto Detect 1...

GPU 558 MHz
RAM 1.02 GHz

Auto Detect 2...

GPU 510
RAM 923

Auto Detect 3...

GPU 510
RAM 922

Can anyone explain what is going on with the first Auto Detect?

It appears Auto Detect is flawed. Seems your own test will be a better indicator of your top clock speeds.

Core is to high = Lockups

Ram to high = speckles

Best test ive found for Ram artifacts is Battle of Proxycon in 3dmark03. Very good for showing even the slightest ram errors.

With a Radeon we see the dots on the core and artifact on the memory when clocked to high. :)
