I dont think it's Starcraft 2. It may be:
"StarCraft universe related game, but Bill Roper the PR guy for Blizzard has flatly denied that StarCraft2 is in development"

Seriously, I did hear recently that the game announced was specifically not going to be Starcraft 2. However, perhaps that was in relation to another announcement?

don't you think Blizzard thinks everyone knows that SC2 is in development and would happily throw everyone for a loop?
Hell, it might be a whole new universe... I can only hope.

Why is it Starcraft 2, Cotita? It's common for companies to register domains related to their products. Just because Blizzard owns that domain name doesn't necessarily mean it's Stacraft 2.
What about the picture makes you think it's Starcraft 2, anyway? All I see is something that looks REALLY blurred out.
Btw, I would think it kind of odd for Blizzard to announce a new PC RTS product so close to the release of Warcraft III. It might undercut their own sales...
Well its not a Zerg for sure...
Could be marine or zealot, or anything else for that matter.
Damn can't wait.
As far as I know a warcraft3 addon will be released by christmas, so who knows.

Personally, my guess would be it's a console game. But, we'll know in an hour.
Perhaps its the Warcraft 3 expansion pack.

Hopefully it'll be better than C&C Renegade turned out.
They expect to ship in late 2003. In other words sometime in 2004. ;)

I don't mind it's a console-only game in the least. They just released Warcraft III, and Diablo II is still quite new. Did you really expect another RTS for the PC soon?
I'm sure Starcraft2 is coming, but probably not for somewhere around two years (though I'm sure we'll hear about it sooner than that...).
The way I see it, this is just Blizzard's attempt to break into the more lucrative console market. In a way, I do hope they fail and go all-PC :)

ditto on what Chalnoth said about SC2, i wasn't expecting it this soon after WC3, even in an announcement only form.
Diablo 2 is new, its 2 years old :eek: and the gameplay is stale as week old bread left outside in the sun. besides which, there have been no patches for a very, very long time, and many issues have been left unresolved.

I was thinking more in terms of the expansion pack, Stealthhawk. I thought that was released only about a year ago?
I guess I'm not really certain...but I do feel that the expansion pack really improved the gameplay by a huge amount.
Regardless, I would expect a new Starcraft game for the PC before I would expect another Diablo game...but now is not the time.

yeah, the expansion is a little more than a year old. too bad it made the game super easy :p
