View Full Version : Check This Out
I have been sent this anonymously. Its a CPU ..desktop. What do you think? Hows the performance?
Its on a uniproccespr system with 1 GB RAM, hdd's with RAID 0 and an unkown CPU.
What is that CPU i wonder?

Mayhaps a Prescott? Or an ultra-overclocked AthlonFX or P4EE?
*thinks a bit*
Hmm...
Try checking the DNS to see if it's not from NVIDIA PR. Wouldn't be surprised if it was a GFFX running it :D
Although I really don't know... Just a guess and stuff :P
Uttar
Ok I have now been told its non AMD. And theres not much choice after that> ;) Is that measured speed in mflops impressive?

How much MFlops regular P4 3ghz throw out ?
Come on Muya give us info :D , If its Intel im guessing it could be Itanium maybe ?

Can someone post a link to other SETI scores for comparison?

In other words: Nothing special. Only a overclocked P4/AXP or just simply an A64. Case closed.
Edit: Forgot that it wasn't AMD, so it's just a low-clock Presscot or an 3.4-3.5Ghz NW/EE.

Yeah its not Itanium 2 BAH....
1GHz Itanium 2 outputs 798.69 MFlops
And This NDA Cpu only 553.75 MFlops realy BWAHH!!!! :p
AthlonXP 2600+ (Thoroughbred) 2.46GHz 223MHz 533.99
Pentium 4 3.64GHz 260MHz 605.54
AthlonXP 2500+ (Barton) 2.53GHz 240MHz 601.18
Athlon64 3200+ 2.00GHz 200MHz 566.42
Would be if it was a Notebook mobile CPU :D
Hmmm my guess then its a Prescott Celery.
MUYA
I concor, a P4 Prescott Celeron overclocked. Should be pretty good at that :D
I would have made a joke about the DEC Alpha, but the Alpha would have kicked the Itanium's butt, so it's not that chip :)
Alpha = best CPU ever (IMNSHO)
oh man please dont mention the alpha ...it's so sad just to think about the alpha.... this is the last year for that great processor :baaa:: :baaa::
rets
Probably a 2.8-3.0ghz prescott... many places have 2.8ghz prescotts.

MFlops aside, look at the work unit time. 1:40 per unit is the same as ~1.66. Looking at the linked list, only Itaniums and Athlon FX's have managed times better than that.
The Barton at 2.88 ghz hits only 1.7155 time per unit.

Its just a prescott and only a little faster then a P4c at the same speed. Its not a prescott celly or the score would be slower. The prescott are about the same preformans at a A64 3200+ if the prescott is at 3.2.
PS looks like a OC prescott at about 3.6to 3.8. At that speed you would need a lot more then water cooling. If its NDA then its not a P4EE.
