It's unfortunate that the American society requires that one needs to learn how to think for themselves.

True, but I think it is important to teach it to 'em no matter how much I'm positive it's gonna come back to bite me in the ass when they're teens. :rolleyes:

Yeah it will, it's a fine line because some authority is needed, some is not ..and the reasoning skills to determine the level of that authority is in massive flux for those teenage years.

Being a teenager isn't easy, tough to remember as a parent... for me though, I've got 9 more years before I even have to worry about that!

You'd love songs by bad religion.. they hold a very similar view to yourself. Personally i think its quite easy to learn, but also that its imperative.. never "just accept"
