Hello all!

After using the FW 52.16 drivers I've only just noticed that AA isnt working. For example Unreal2, and Homeworld2 I have noticed that they seem to be running quite sooth at 8xAA. However after installing the 45.23 Drivers I noticed that when I played these same games the 8xAA was working!

Is it me or am I being thick?

Many Thanks

Hello all

really must read what I'm typing! I was ment to say that the reason why it was so smooth on 8x AA with the 52.16 is that it wasnt really on at all!

Any Ideas?, Is it Just me?

If I had these games I would test them for you :(

Thanks for the reply mate!

What games do you have so that I might test the new drivers!

I have a 5900 non ultra and I play Unreal 2, seems like AA works for me.

Are you using a launcher/driver setting utility such as Rivatuner? If the settings are saved properly, or you forget to check the "revert settings to normal after closing program" box in the launcher menu, you might not get the settings running that you thought you were.

I am a Nvidia fan and product user, however most of the time you can't tell if thier AA is on or off. :D

J/k is not that bad, but IMO not worth the performance hit. Crank up the res, 1600x1200 /w 4-8x AF is fine for quality images. You will hardly miss the AA at that res...

Hey people

Vash - Nope not using any tuners or o/c utils. Going to wait till I've had the card for six months before I do any of that!

Mailficar - I know what you mean by the crispness at the res because I have a 17inch LG flat panel. But it's that extra little crispness that I like

I was going to post some pics of unreal 2 to show people what I mean about the noticable differences. But I'm on earlies tomorrow but I will post them as soon as I get home!

Thanks for all the input poeple!

Under "performance and quality" in the control panel did you un tick application pref by AA and AF? That should force the level you set. Might want to slide your "image settings" bar to "quality" as well, that should help better rendering. Under direct 3d make sure mip detail is also set to "best image quality". Always use compressed textures as well, will save bandwidth...

I use those settings with AAx2< ,on occassion, and AFx8...

Hello again

Sorry I'm late in producing the pics.....life to sort out and all that!

Right then. This pic is with the 45.23 drivers with 8xAA and 8xAF as you can see the lines are still there but almost hardly noticeable

This is a shot with the 52.16 drivers with the same setup

8xAA
8xAF
High Quality
Res = 1280x1024

As you can see the lines are more jagged.

Any feedback would be most helpful

Thanks

52.16 have loads and loads of bugs thats why the AA isn't working properly.
