I stopped playing the NFS games when NFS Porsche Unleashed corrupted the registry of my Win98 installation  Back to the store you go, punk.

just got it from fileplanet.. i must say the graphics are quite nice.

bad thing is that motion blur, and light trails seem to crawl the game down to fps in the teens on my rig. my guess is that its poor optimization with ati cards... ill let you know how it goes on the 5900 powered machine at work...

Its ok, the drag race is very neat much like Too Fast Too Furious. That motion blur and trails do slow you down at 1280x1024 but its pretty neat at lower resolutions. Anyone know how to fix the screen size? Extreamly annoying.

Wasn't too impressed with the handling in the couple of races I had earlier. Then again, I felt the same about the last two NFS games too, but ended up loving those.

I'll try again later.

just tried it on the rig at work with a 5900 ultra, and the game runs about twice as fast with motion blur, and light trails w/ 4xaa & 2xaf... looks amazing. it kinda sucks that the game is not optimized for ati cards, hopefully the final game is more optimized.

I think blur effects have been known to be slower on ATi Radeons. I remember some complaining how slow GTA3's blurs were on ATi cards. While it ran full speed on my GFti4600 and FX5900u.

NFS U uses a lot of blur effects too.

Here are some screens I took of the demo.

And I am definitly getting this game  It looks and plays great on a GF3.

Its a lot of fun. I liked NFSHP2, and this is better :) Don't know why some people dont like it but I guess we all have different tastes.

I love when cars in front of you skid around the bend and you see water fly threw the air from the wet road. Looks great. The drag race was a total blast, more fun then I thought it would be. Took me 3 blown engines tho till I figured out I had to shift

the graphics look soooo console port,

i wish someone would make a sweet raceing game (preferable rally racing) that will never touch a console, great gameplay with awesome graphics.

I wonder if BigBerthaEA could confirm or not if the graphics (modified) and physics engine is the same as the f1 Challengw 99-02? ISI or ISS are the ones who do the programming right..or wrong? Jusr curious.

Runs fine on my GeForce 3, but that's understandable because the Xbox does use nVidia hardware.

Whats so "consoleish" about the graphics? Games aren't allowed to have high poly models and bumpmapping? :screwy:

Ran fine also on my GF3... As long as I didn't enable 3D trees.

Then I got my Radeon, and the speed was tripled with 3D trees turned on compared to the GF3 :)
