And yet even I still have trouble spotting which of these is the better option from Komplett.co.uk

119314 Gainward GeForce FX 5600 ULTRA 128MB
- AGP, 2,5ns DDR,Tv-Out/DVI, Retail 2
stocked

161.34

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

121714 Gainward GeForce FX 5700ULTRA 128MB DDR2
- AGP, "Ultra/960XP GS",VIVO/2xDVI, Retail Backordered
(lead time: 5 days)

140.49

Can anyone give me any advice which I should buy ?

I'm sort of looking for the fastest card at the cheapest price, so use that as a guide.

Any clues ?

No, too late, I have made my decision, I am taking a risk but I think I might plump for the 5700 over the 5600.

Call me Mr Rash

I would also go for the 5700

Yes, most people would

But I wonder what the rational is behind keeping the older, less speddy 5600 card at a more expensive price ? You wouldn't have an old version of a car on the forecourt at a more expensive price than the newer. Ridiculous.

In the same way they have a Terratec 5800 at 200 , I wrote them an email tonight saying I would take it off their hands for 100 because I am a cheeky bugger. They have had that 1 card in stock for about 2 months now and can't shift it.

<blinks> How is that even a QUESTION? o_O I have no idea why they have those cards priced as they do, but it's pretty damn silly. Maybe the 5700U is at a promotional price, or they typoed on the 5600 or forgot to check on it? <shrugs> Whatever the reason, right now the 5700 is better AND cheaper, so the answer is automatic.

5700 definetly! The 5600 really isn't that good, my TI4400 can out perform it
