As another exclusive at Elite Bastards, we have managed to be the first to obtain some leaked numbers for nVidia's soon to be announced GeForceFX 5700 Go, nVidia's attempt to answer ATi's Mobility Radeon 9600 (otherwise known as M10).
The benchmarks show an ATi M10 chip at its lowest possible clock settings, against a GeForceFX 5700 Go overclocked with extra cooling. In other words, the worse case performance scenario for the ATi board against the best case scenario for nVidia's new contender.

Dang... NV is just loosing every dang market to ATI in the performance area. :(
quick question... concerning the heavy power usage by the 4200go/5600 processors from nvda... how does the 5700 based gpu fare?

Also, the 5600 can scale its clockspeed, while the 4200 can not.
So i bet the go 5700 will be exactly the same as the go 5600, accept it will use a bit more power when its at higher clocks.

When is Nvidia going to make a good mobile part? First it was "hey lets wait for the 5600 go" then it was "lets wait for the 5650 go", then it was "lets wait for the 5700 go". Whats next in line?

What's sad to me is the areas that the 5700 Go! does lead, it does it marginally and in only a few games. On the other hand when the ATi M10 leads, it is usually by a huge pecentage and on the majority of the games.
I tell ya, after reading Uttar's final article... I find myself not even considering another Nvidia card for like another couple years if they still exist. What's worse is that I am more eager about XGI's products than Nvidia's roadmap at the moment.
Clearly, my next card will be one by ATi.
Peace,
:(
I agree that their mobile parts are lacking and just told my bro to get a laptop w/ a 9600 variant, however I am thankful they exist in that space.
Just a few years ago dell and others were selling laptops with ATI graphics cards with like 8mb of ram, and they sucked balls. This is when there was actually decent cards out for desktops too btw, then Nvidia jumped into the mobile market and suddenly ATI starts selling good cards, and OEM's start to use them thank-you competition

I spose some OEM's are gonna use em just for the power saving features...
of course ati has the same but if the OEM's have an arrangement with nvda... so be it...
always did think the 4200 was all about raw power... a decent product but certainly not for the long haul wot
It's going to get even worst for nVidia in a couple months.

Look at what video card it's coming with.

Look at what video card it's coming with. Wow, but, what is the m11, i dobut its off the r300 or r350/60.
my guess the m10 is to m11 as rv350 is to rv360

I think you're wrong... that wouldn't make any sence in making a new notebook chip with only that little performance/feature gain.

why ?
consider the rv360 uses low-k...
if it you migrate that to a laptop imagine savings in terms of size and therefore in a roundabout way... heat/power...
it would make perfect sense for OEM's I would think...
-edit- though I must say an r300 based gpu would be quite luvly :D

This is OT but, but anyone else notice that we are about 2 or 3 days (depending on what you count the 'laucnh date') of the 9600XT to be from it being 30 days. and i just checked newegg and no 9600xt to be found, maybe the curse of low-k livies on!
My old laptop with a geforce 2 go still works fine and it plays most games great.:) .
