CompUSA has these for $250 w/ $50 rebate and if you sign up for AOL for 3 months (free to cancell at no cost to you) you can get another $20 knocked off.

Just figured I'd give a heads up...

I had bought a 5600 ultra from CompUSA a month ago for $130. I guess the 5700U and the 5950 are bumping these other cards down the spout.

Best Buy had the BFG 5900 for $249 with a $50 rebate. You can now get a 5900 for half its original cost. I got one for one of my systems. It's a great card for the money. You can overclock it beyond 5900 Ultra speeds. Of course, you're stuck with 128MB of RAM.

Jeez, are they even going to sell ANY 5700's this way? o_O 5900 non-U's are about as cheap as can be right now.

95% of the people in the world have no idea on HW.
They will see the 900Mhz DDR2 and all on the 5700
and buy it.

Most people I talk to in the world ask for a nvidia card when
i build there systems.
Why? They had a MX in the last system. :angel2:

Higher mhz = more speed with the nvidia name is what they want.

It's sad but true that most people have no idea who or what ati is.

But about everyone knows the NV name.

I am able to sell people ati in the systems I build for them-better performance and cheaper with higher IQ-can't be beat.

Nice to hear that.
I've built 56 systems now and only 1 had a ati card. "rage 128"
It was my brothers. He is a real cheapo for sure. :)

What is the best budget card out now?

I've got to build a low cost video editing system soon for a guy.

Those prices of the 5900 will eat into the new gf fx 5700 ultra sales...unless NV intend to stop production of the 5900 non ultras and the stores are getting rid of their stocks asap? dunno...

That's what I said in a post a few days ago.
I think they may be going to drop the 5900R.

They absolutely have to drop the FX 5900. You can get those cards for about the same price as the FX 5700 Ultra, and they're faster. It's a no-brainer.

GeForce FX 5900 > GeForce 5700 Ultra = $199

just an FYI, rather than deal with rebates or AOL sign ups, you can go to http://www.newegg.com and get a FX5900 for about $200 without the hassel and free shipping ;)
