I was just looking at the benchmarks on the net, It seems that when it comes to HL2 the 9600Pro beats the s*** out of FX5600Ultra, and when it comes to Doom3 it seems that the situation is the other way arround. Arent these games both using the same dx9 instructions? Are there any other game benchmarks with dx9 included?

Nope, Doom3 is OpenGL with some DX9 wrappers (nVIDIA cards always peform better in OGL) Half-Life2 is Direct X9 and ATi cards peform better in D3D.

nVIDIA & ATi optimised their cards for HL2 as it was about to be released intill recently. Doom3 has Optimized nVIDIA drivers while ATi does not, ATi thought it would be a waste of time just yet as by the time Doom3 comes out Cat 4.3 drivers around and will have the optimisation.

Can I have some of those wrappers, I still need a software to D3D wrapper for all my old DOS games.

Just joking :)

Seconded.
Plus, there isn't a single DX9 feature used in Doom3 AFAIK. PS1.4. at best, eh.

Doom3 is really a DX7-base tech with a few improvements when using DX8/DX8.1. feature sets.

All a DX9 card is gonna bring you is increased framerates. And that's not even always true; a bad DX9 card is of course slower than a good DX8 one ( FX5200<Ti4200 )
