They have 2.8 samsung on them.
Same memory the 9700Pro up uses.
I wish they has used 2.2 on them like Nvidia did. ;)

You sure you're not confusing the 9800PRO w/ the R9800TX?
Pretty sure the R9800XT uses 2.2ns (or is it 2.5??)

Sorry I guess I had it wrong.
For some reason I was thinking they used 2.8.
I wonder why no one is getting close to spec on OC's
of the ram?
My 2.2 will hit 1Ghz.
I have said it before, and will say it again. There is more to clocking RAM than just the actual clock rate. If you insert enough wait states, you could clock at 2Ghz. Does not mean it gets any faster.
The actual clock rate is but a small part of the equation to determine the speed of memory.
Why don;y yo not just say latency.
Then someone would ask what that meant. It's a vicious circle, I tell ya.

I was sure my Hercules 9800XT used 2.2ns memory, but according to Xbitlabs it's 2.5ns Hynix. At least the memory pictured in their review is the same kind that's on my card. It'll do ~400 Mhz without issue at any degree of FSAA+AF and in any game and at any lenght of time. It'll run benchmarks up to 425 Mhz without artifacts. So it makes sence that it's 2.5 ns. Would have been great with some 2.2ns stuff though....
