Well this is a strange one to me. I turned off all power sasving options with for the monitor, and disabled the screen saver.

I have a 50" DLP Smasung that my computer is connected to (via DVI) and if I turn off the Television, and come back an hour or more later, turn on the television, there is no signal coming from the Radeon??? at least that's what the TV says.

I have to reboot in order to get the display to come back to live, or hybernate, unhibernate (yuck).

Does the Radeon do something funky if it detects the display has been shut off?

I've had this issue witha 9500, and my currecnt 9800PRO, and with Catalyst 3.7,3.8. and 3.9. I can't figure out how to get a signal back to the TV after I've left the set off for a long time :(

Suggestions?

What happens if you leave a monitor connected to the VGA port and then turn off the TV? Maybe the TMDS on your card gets a bit fuggy when there's no signal recipient, and it needs a hardware reset to function again.

If you can't get signal from the VGA port after leaving the TV off for a while, it sounds like a power-saving issue with the drivers.

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I am now having this problem when my computer resumes from S3 standby after an extended period of time.

Considering that no one has posted in this thread in a year, I would have to say not.

However, there have been many driver revisions released since this thread was created. Perhaps one of them solves this issue.
