Mandrake - How do you get out of X windows

I need to get out of X to install the drivers, Im using mandrake 8.2 and Gnome, and I dont know how to get out of X!!! Please help.

Ctrl-Alt-Backspace?

That should kill X...if not, you can always just switch to a text only console by hitting Ctrl-Alt-1 (or 2 or 3 ...)

Or, if that doesn't work, as root, do an init 3. That had better do it...
