Hi all,

I have the problem to bring my GeForce4 MX440 (64Mb-RAM) to a higher resolution than 1024x768 under RedHat 7.3 with the kernel 2.4.18-10 and nVidia-driver 3196...

I'am sure a newbee at Linux also with RedHat. Has anyone a Idea whats wrong ...

I have an AMD 1800XP+, 128Mb-RAM, GeForce4 MX440...

Thanks

Well, do not nasty things... ;-)
Drink a good Moss or more at the Oktoberfest, and then check your technical monitor datas, the horizontal
and vertical scannning rates. Theses datas are
relevant editing your Xf86Config file manually
or with a utility program like xf86config for
instance.

fine Thanks, that is an answer we all want to have...

o.k. lets walk trough...

horizontal 31.5 - 48.5 and vertical 50-70
so than i run xf86config ...

got some Errors about not valid resolution/monitor found...

at the end of this Issue ... I copied an original XF86config File from a previous Installation with a GeForce2 Card and it works well.

I will trie now the new kernel for the drivers ... and we will see...

Thanks...
