If we're KINDA comparin scores, then what IQ settings should we all use (if we're gonna compare)? On my last run that I posted, that was @ highest control panel IQ, no AA/AF... or should we all kick our mipmaps and stuff down for this?
Tragic addendum: I really shouldnt have done this on my pc with all my review material on it... this abit mobo had a little more headroom, and I wanted to run it at a little higher fsb... the PC2100 stick I have in it right now suprisingly runs stable @ 180 once in a while... I forgot about the once in a while part... Ugh... hosed my XP install...
Now, right now I only have 2 IDE HD's... I haven't touched my 2 18.2 10k scsi's in over a year still... both of these IDE's have much info on em... all was needed... heh, so I used the same HD, went to install XP, and had it throw XP on a new directory (c:\winXP)...
So, suffice to say, I'm gonna have to use a CRIPPLED setup for the next few days... meh, it will be a good thing... it'll keep me away from games for the next couple days... TYPE john, TYPE!! :D :D
Heh, I love this abit kt266a, but when I over-overclock it... it's real mean to me... I've lost many an hour due to my mistakes... 180 on a PC2100 stick, what am I thinkin?? :p :D
sorry to get slightly off topic folks, but this all happened cuz I knew I could attain some scores a little more level with the others on the 1st page... :p
Guess i have the highest score so far.

Incase any of you were going to try and up your scores by increasing your GPU/Mem speeds, don't.
I bumped my 9800 Pro up to 435/780, exhibiting in only a ONE POINT increase. Haha.
This benchmark is almost completely CPU.

I still have the Highest Star Fighter Demo Score yet! I still would like to know why that is though...lol. Any new info on what instructions each demo utilizes yet?
If a A64 beat it, then I would be almost certain it has to do with SSE2 instructions, or some form of SSE.
Peace,
:afro:
If it's a simple test then due to the high bandwith of the P4 it will pull higher fps and make the diffrence. Also SSE2 does help quite abit, havn't seen any A64 scores yet.

Boing!
Man I miss my miga. You just reminded me why I hate windows so much.

Especially on a AMD benchmark...
Gesh, does no one has sense anymore...lol, my goodness. I do however find it interesting as only a A64 has been able to surpass my P4's Star Fighter Demo Score. The FSB isn't super high either, might be SSE instructions. That is really cool and most interesting. :)
I shall be looking more into a A64 soon then. :D Hopefully better overclocking options become readily availible as Phase Cooling doesn't sound too near in my future just yet.
Peace,
:D

I'm sure your right. We've now seen fx5200 -> 9800pro and only the CPU is making the scores rise. Lucky they put a pretty face on the CPU test though, or none of us would bother running it. Progress bars are boring to watch... unless two or more are competing :)
Well if a 2GHz A64 can go up against the P4 3.2 then the 2.45GHz A64 should go up against the 4Ghz.
Also the SSE2 does make a big diffrence.
