I have an OEM Audigy with a yr2001 install disc...

Well, for one thing, the disc is old enough that eh 1394 driver won't work with XP...

Sound works correctly with the old driver, but I can't seem to update this shizzle... I want to though...

I downloaded AUD_EAX4DRV_031031 ... which is for audigy cards...

GRRRR... and it starts off, then tells me that I don't have a dand Audigy in my system!!!

Heh, I've made do before with the old drivers, but I wanna use some new ones now... and I wanna try some EAX out, dang it... so no go on the KX drivers (which worked fine)...

what, should I winrar the install file or something?

Is there a workaround?

Linky's??

Believe me, I know how many times this issue has been covered, but YALL GOTS TO HELP ME!!! :p I'm sick of having half good sound drivers on my machines!!

lo and behold, winrar'ing to a folder and running CTZAPXX ACTUALLY WORKED!! I haven't had that way of doing it work in a LONG TIME...

cool...

now I just gotta find some EAX demo's that test the EAX ability of the new drivers...

waitaminit, Audigy1's can't do EAX 4.0, can they??

ahh yes, how rich, a conversation with myself... whoopeee.. :D

ok, so I snooped around, and apparently EAX 4.0 IS supported on the audigy1's... cool...

So I'm pleased about that... but, um, why doesn't my firewire port work?

:(

All right, I'm gonna un-install the "1394 net adapter" and restart and see if it picks it up correctly... if not, then doubleyou tee- F...
