I got it yesterday. So far I'm impressed with the single player. It's a much better story than the OC or SoU. You can now modify a henchman's inventory. I don't know if this works all the time, but when you meet a certain Drow, you can bring her into the party and keep your current henchman.

As for epic levels, well let me put it this way. How powerful is a 39th level fighter? I walked up to an adult dragon. I hit him once with my bastard sword. Devestating Critical Hit (instant death if you fail your fortitude save). Stand over dragon's body and say "You just got knocked the hell out!" :D

Hi Sledge. I just picked up the game today. Did you use your existing character, a premade one, or create a new one for the game?

I'm only about 1/2 through the original game and am wondering which route I should go (got bored with the original one).

I'm using a preexisting character. There are a few references that appear in the OC. You may want to finish it before HotU so you know what they mean.

Just picked this up today. Looking forward to it immensely.

one question, though - Level 39? How far into it are you? Level cap for the SoU was 12 or 15, wasn't it? Using cheats? No offense meant. I'm just curious what was required to reach that level?

Hehe, most dragons and similar beasts are immune to critical hits, so that won't work :)

The level cap is level 40, but you won't get past about level 30 by completing the single-player campaign (I got to level 27, after starting at 17). The extra levels are meant to get more people into playing online.

Anyway, I was somewhat disappointed with the final boss. He's challenging enough, but it's somewhat of a boring fight. He doesn't seem to use any special abilities...just attacks.

I cant wait to get hold of it. Should be my RPG fix for Christmas, and may just stop me from being pissed off about Fallout 3.
