whats next and when?

I was trying to look ahead at what nvidia plans on releasing next and when. but i am not having any luck. normally there is some idea about what the specs will be. i heard some time 1qt 04 there is soposed to be a new card. but no idea what.

any one have any info? i am not that impressed by the current line of cards when compared to ati. (i hate ati) so if you have any links or info i would be greatful.

heh did you try looking in Rumor Mill (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=8) :rolleyes: what&when is in 2 to 5 months.

Personally Im not impressed by Nvidia and all the PR they do , they better improve in future :rolleyes:

Complete DirectX 9.1 compliance along with a totally new architecture and image quality improvements are supposedly in store for the NV40. But that's not including the R420 factor. Next spring should prove to be very interesting.

lol very good. great info guys. i shoudl have explored the hardware section more to find what i was looking for.

side question. is directx the only main api now? what happened to opengl and others if there are/were.

OpenGL is alive in well with Quake 3 engine games, the upcoming Doom 3 engine, and stuff that isn't designed solely for Windows.

And there is no DirectX 9.1.

To the original poster: NV40 should have a paper launch in February or March, with availability a month later. There should be reviews appearing in ~2 months.
