View Full Version : MSI 5700 Ultra overclocking
Just got a sample from MSI.
5700 Ultra.
With the built in automated overclocking tool this board does 522/995. And that speed is covered by warranty. Pretty good eh?
Well so the maximum OC:
576/1056
Pretty nice huh? :)
Tha least 5700 Ultra I tried didn't get close to that, how about you other guys. What does your boards do at stock cooling?
Is that because you are in Scandanavia? and its very very chilly there? and that you have openen all windows? and that you have taken the side panels out? and that your room is 0 degrees celcius. ?
Thatsa good overclock at any rate :D

I haven't really tried to push this engineering sample yet. It was at 520/1020 I think, and that was all I tried. But it ran fine, and considering my CPU temp is 24C at the moment (what, it's cold in here), I could probably get it up nice and high.

That's impressive. Most I can get is 540/1.02. Any higher and I get artifacts.

Hehe it's pretty cold outside, 4.2 degrees, but inside it's 21.5 degrees.
Closed case, with an ambient temp of 35.0 degrees.
No fan pointed at the board or anything like that. I use water cooling for my CPU and passive cooling for my mobo so air doesn't really move around a lot in there (no case fan at all).
The board comes with a massive software bundle (ten CDs) with games, applications, tweaking tools and so forth.
The price is quite a bit more than an avarage 9600 XT though*, that and the fact that the 5700 ultras are so damn long that they barely fit in my case is about the only two problems as I see it.
*this board is 2000-2100 SEK, an avarage 9600 XT is 1500-1600 SEK.
