Found a bargain over at OcUK, they have a Sparkle 5900nu (Not SE or LX) for only 186!

I went to order it yesterday and its usual price was 205. Its a retail model too and i think that considering the fact that the Creative 5900nu (which is clocked @ 400/700) is 205 that its quite a good deal.

Thought id share the info for anyone that may be interested,
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/sparkle_nvidia_graphics_cards.html

Second item from the bottem of the list. Enjoy.

Yeah it's quite tempting but I wonder if gfx card prices overall will fall after Christmas?

That does look very good value, well spotted . Shame I am now saving up for the nv40 ( was it only a year ago I was saving up for the nv30 ? then didn't get it. Will history repeat itself )?

Regards

Andy

Look like you rushed to order it, you should wait a bit and spend 1 hour researching to find the cheapest 5900NU, 186 for Sparkle 5900NU is not the cheapest one, I found Dabs.com (http://www.dabs.com/uk/productview?quicklinx=2S2Z) sell Creative 5900NU for 175.

Maybe you could consider cancel Overclockers.co.uk order and order at Dabs.com. ;)

Oh no, ive been looking round for a while. I had a 5900LX (WinFast) but i couldnt get it to fit in my case with my mobo correctley so i sent it back.

FYI the Creative 5900nu (http://www.guru3d.com/article/Videocards/92/) runs at 400/700 with 2.8ns Memory rather than the proper 400/850 (So its essentially an LX/SE). So yes the sparkle is the cheapest proper non-ultra ive found. ;)

Alternative, you could go for Leatek 5900 LX at Ebuyer.com (http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X3Jldmlld3M=&product_uid=55346) for 163.98, it advertised as 400/700, one customer in ebuyer review managed to overclocked it to 425/850 that is 5900NU original speed, it is more than stable without need any extra cooling. It looked like Nvidia underclocked 5900NU's 425/850 to LX level's 400/700 to sell the chips cheaper. I think I recommend you to buy it so you can overclocked it to 400/850 for 163.98. :)

Thats the Winfast 5900LX i had that woudnt fit in my case, it did indeed clock upto Ultra levels :) but im like i said, the cooler on it was too large and interfered with parts in my PC. I think id rather pay 186 anyhow to be ensured of 2.5/2.2ns RAM anyhow. That way i can clock up even higher than 400/850.... :D

You could also go for a Pixelview 5900nu (not LX) from Microdirect. I paid 176 there last week and it is a full blown 5900nu running at 400/850.

That was rather a bargain . I mean what can u get for 95 graphics wise? Ive seen 5200's by gainward going for more than that. ;)

The Pixelview 5900nu @ Microdirect looks great stuff though, aparentley its clocked @ 400/850 and not 400/800 as stated....

Seems the 5900 is mopping up with the competition recentley. :) and would anyone have ever guessed it would be in the value market??

:D
