eVGA ships their 5900SE card with a DVI-VGA converter. However, when I connect my CRT to the card's DVI port, I see nothing on the screen. Is there some trick to this? And should I expect any better video quality? Thanks!

I don't think you'll get any better video quality, as you're still converting to analogue for the CRT, whereas if you were using a DVI connection you would be passing a digital signal straight up to the TFT.

There shouldn't be anything to hooking your CRT up to the DVI, just stick the adapter into the card, and then monitor into that - never had any trouble with it myself.

I just had to turn the machine off first before hooking up to the DVI....doh!

Actually, the image quality does look sharper coming from the DVI-VGA conversion in my opinion. Go figure.

Fair enough, whatever is best for you!

The only card I use a DVI-vga converter on is my AIW 9800, but I don't have a CRT connection to compare with.
