hi

My Ti4200 has Philips SAA7104E TV encoder chip which is said to be capable of up to 1280X1024 TV out-put.
I'm using 53.03 driver and I can only go up to 1024x768.
what do i have to do to go higher resolution for TV out?

Can Tvtool enable it? Coz, i can't find any info that tvtool let you use this resoluton.

or is it related to the fact that my 15" monitor can only go up to 1024x768?

It's due to your monitor being only 1024x768, also TVout is for TV's and not monitors which use VGA. The card is capable of doing above 1600x1200 with VGA. You will find 1024x768 will be the limit of most TV's also, unless you have a HD TV.

I havent herd of any tv out chip that supports more than 1024x800, unless you mean via panning?

yep, you'd need HDTV, so it's likely above 1024x768 isn't even supported, unless it's using panning which follows the mouse and it otherwise annoying. An example of that would be a 1284x1024 desktop, but a 1024x768 resolution. I tried it once, it stinks, you don't want it :p
