Wow! My very own 1stFlight!

That's right folks, I've met the Chicago-incarnate version of 1stFlight and he's one of my dad's old college buddies. He's about as lefty as you can get. He was over by my folks' last weekend for our annual Christmas party. He then started babbling his anti-Bush propaganda, and it got to the point where I had to excuse myself and leave the room. I returned when I knew it was safe.

Thing about this guy, though is that he's a tenured math teacher at one of the best high schools in the state. He and his wife are probably pulling in $80k+ a piece, they just bought a brand new BMW convertible and plan on taking trips to Mexico and Poland in the coming months. Yep, he's got it sooooo bad. Whenever I hear him talk (read: whine) about politics, I think I hear violins in the background.

What are Liberals supposed to all be starving artists or something? Currently, I make significantly more than UDawg, and more than likely several other members of this board. Being Liberal has nothing to do with economic status, it's a social belief. And those beliefs have gotten me quite far, thus far.

Terrifying, isn't it? Oh I can thank Bush for one thing, next month I'll be able to donate 2K to the Dean campaign and not even sweat it. :)

Btw: Saturn, did you ever stop to think that with this person's experience, he may be more knowledgable than you? Or did your ego get in the way of that possiblity?

Considering that he's pretty much the buffoon of my dad's group of friends and the butt of most of the jokes, such a thought never crossed my mind.

Funny, I seem to recall a lot of war supporters a few months ago; and now that we're stuck in Iraq, with no exit plan, billions of debt, hundreds of dead soldiers, and not one warhead to show for it. No one's really laughing. That should be a hint.

I find it very funny. You make more money than me, have a wife and daughter yet you still bitch about life like a whipped puppy in a goatse farm.

My ex cheated on my and got pregnant from the other guy, I got divorced which bankrupt me and am a single father even went into counseling for depression yet I am "significantly" more happy and optimistic than you.

Why am I so much more happy than you? Maybe it has something to do with taking responsibility for your self and admitting your short comings, something that is foreign to you. ;)
