Any rumours about the NV40?

I guess this isn´t the most original thread but I didn´t find any of this on the front page so bear with me.

I just saw the specs on the R420 and it seems to be only 8 pipelines!! A real surprise for me thinking it would be 12 at least.

So what is the NV40 coming up with? Is it 8x1 or 8x2 you would think? I have seen some really ridiculous clock numbers on the NV40 but the NV3X series also boosted some high clock numbers which didn´t render the performance you might would have expected. Much because of it´s 4x2 design I would assume...
