Anti-capitalist jerks are going to disrupt traffic in DC today by blocking major roadways. Oh yeah there's also an anarchist scavenger hunt: 500 for trashing the inside of a retail store, 300 for smashing a McDonald's window and 75 for puncturing a police car's tire. Wonder how much money and damage its going to be this time. These protestors are a bunch of clueless college students and hoodlums. Fscking dips need to be run over and killed.

Actually, anti-capitalists have a very good point. Ever year for at least the past 20 years, capitalism has been the direct cause behind more than 1 million deaths.

Do the protestors have a good point? Yes. Do I agree with how they are going about it? No.

If they want to be taken seriously, they have to present their point seriously.

Bah! No one is going to take those FUBAR people seriously.

A person of great wealth. - Capitalist (www.dictionary.com is your best friend :))

Those protesters are left wing extremists who are just as bad as right wing extremists.
Why don't they make their point some other way?

The reason I hate political parties like the Greenies and the like is because of their shting behaviour (not all of them have such behaviour). It's disgusting.
Those type of people who destroy other peoples property to make a point might as well shave their heads and call themselves Nazis. In my eyes they are Nazis.

Not to condone anything, and this is mainly to the people in the US, but this country was in part founded by protests, was it not? I seem to remember hearing about something to do with tea and a harbor back in high school. Out of those protests good things came. Everything you know is a result of those people who were willing to put themselves on the line and stand up for what they believed in.

Besides, Thomas Jefferson did say that government should be torn down and restarted every 20 years. Considering what he did for this country, I tend to put a little bit of faith in his words.

yes, and he changed his mind about violent revolutions after witnessing the French one.

Aye. Like I said, not saying they're right. Just saying that just because someone's protesting doesn't make them wrong. There's correct ways to make your point known.

They are definatly going about it the wrong way, disrupting peoples lives and smashing things will only make their point less valid

Yeah but so was old age, Hitler, Pol-Pot (sp?), and a whole host of other things. That grievance still does not justify the wanton destruction of private/public property (even REWARDING it).

I know you said that you don't agree with the methods, I'm not trying to rag on you or anything. It's just dumb sh*t like this really pisses me off.

I was all *punk rock* back in my high-school/college days.....then I learned that doing crap like that only hurts the cause more....

I agree with you, not all the protesters use violence are vandlize property. I agree with them also, what do you think runs our governments? Money and big business give them loads of it, in return they ask for favors. If you did some research on what its all about from the protesters side, it would make you sick at what goes on.

Capitalism doesn't cause deaths, it is the people behind it that neglect their duties and those who think they can live for free off of others. Just like guns don't cause deaths, the people that pull the trigger do.:o

This country wasn't formed out of protests, it was formed out of the will and strong desire to be independent and to be self governing. Revolution or protests did not make this country, it is the people that live and die for it. Thomas Jefferson did say that government should be replaced every so often. Yep, I see what you say there and agree with it. What do you think we do every four years? We are not running under the same government of Bill Clinton or Ronald Reagan. Every four years our old government is replaced by a new one, and every two years major parts of the government are replaced and renewed.

Wow! Choas and lunacy!

Where do I sign up?!? :p

Actually, I change this scavenger hunt to something more harmless. No property damage or anything like that. I'd give 500 points for the first person that walks into a retail store buck naked an insists on buying clothing without some logo feces on it, 300 points for buying a Rally's combo for take out and eating it inside the McDonald's lobby, and 1,000,000 points for the first person that walks up to a police car, looms into the window and says, "Hey, aren't you fellas public servants? Good...now GO GET ME A GLASS OF WATER, YOU ***HOLE IN A HAT!! :p

Bah, capitalism is similar to communism, good on paper but sucks in reality.

Ideally, in a capitalist society, the harder you work the more money you make; yet many of the people who do the most work in this country make the least money. CEOs are allowed to get away with stealing billions with just a slap on the wrist, while people trying to survive in our capitalist system spend a lifetime in jail for selling drugs. Total and utter crap!

I suppose my current political views are best summed up by Ani DiFranco's song entitled Self Evident. Its lyrics can be found at:

If these people want to protest, go right ahead. Some issues do need to be raised. But how is stopping folks from getting into work helping these causes? Its not. And wouldn't it be better to take that energy and be constructive instead of being destructive?

So what do some of these protestors want? The abolition of the World Bank and IMF. Fine, no more money to be handed out. Then the US and others can get bashed even more for not caring about third world countries and giving away moola.

What else do they want? Loan forgiveness. Well some loans have already been forgiven. Question: why was this money even loaned in the first place? What happens its stolen by big shots and autocrats in third world countries who stash it away.

I read that the protest was agaist IMF policy of high interest rates. On average, each country has to pay all his debts in interest every 13years, even without asking for more money.

I've been having this fantastic dream lately just before I wake up and it makes me grin ear to ear. It's a jail cell housing the likes of Dick Cheney, Dubya, Sidgemore, Ken Lay, Martha Stewart, and that CEO of Tyco rattling their tin cups against the cage and singing an old vintage tune.

Ladies & Gentleman, it's the Leavenworth Barbershop Quintet singing "In The Jail House Now!" Hit it!!

I wake up with a smile but it quickly turns to regret as I realize I'm not the head of the News department of a major broadcast network because, if I were, I would get rid of that "weather bulletin" scrawl on the bottom of the screen and replace it with a small box showing LIVE, 24/7 coverage of these 5 idiots serving their time in a Federal pen. This is the way "Big Brother" should be!! :D :) :p

baseless statement. Let me match you: Every year for the past 100 years oxygen has caused thousands to die. People breath oxygen. People eventually die. Therefor oxygen must have killed them.

How the hell does a financial system directly kill someone? Really. That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. People are killed by other people who commit selfish acts out of greed . . .which can happen in ANY social-economic system.

Oh, Bawls would not be here if not for capitalism.
