My bet is that in The Inquirer's latest NV30 article they have given the name away via subliminal messaging. Go have a look... it's actually more obvious than you might think. ;)

I really like Rampage and Napalm. I'm not too fond of Fearless, however, sounds too much like ATI.

Anyway, yeah, they're all very nice names. But then again, code names are often much better than the name the product gets from marketing...

Well, Avenger was Banshee II AKA Voodoo3.. so I don't think they'll use that...

Fearless and Rampage souds good... but they'd all be murdered by 3dfx Zealots if they called it Rampage... I can just imagine the scene.. 3dfx fans marching down the street brandishing guns, shouting about how nVidia defiles the memory of 3dfx with the naming of their new chip...

Once I heard 3dfx had a project called "Medusa" too... maybe they could use that..

You might be on to something there. Maybe nvidia was going to call it eclipse but ATI got wind of it and decided to spoil the party. So nvidia call it something thats the opposite of an eclipse, something like supernova, or maybe the warewolf demo is a hint and they call it fullmoon (then for advertising they can have a guy bending over with his pants round his ankles with a strapline saying 'take that ATI') :D :D
