I'm trying to install java for SuSE 9.0 for a user and can't because of permission denied. I'm kind of a newbie at this.
I thought by starting Mozilla under root and downloading it and installing java would set it for all users.
The way I'm installing it is through Mozilla/Netscape Browser. I went to a site that requires a java plugin, when it asks to download the java plugin I clicked OK and tried to install from there. Works fine for root but for user it keeps giving me permission denied.
How do I get around this?

Well Suse 9.0 comes with java and works fine in mozilla, I have Suse9 Pro so have a look and see if you've installed it in YaST.

I looked in Yast for the plugin but haven't found it.
I did a search for the libjavaplugin_oji.so file with no luck.
Is that the file I should be searching for?

Just search for java and you should see it.

I can't find anything about java in YaST.
I tried everything in YaST, looking under System Update, Online Update and Install and Remove Software.

Can I just download it from www.java.com and install that way?
How do I go about doing that the right way?
