This was #2 on the top 10 list. Judging by the arrogance, the level of elitism and contempt for the average American I have to wonder, did 1stFlight post this?

2) "What we MUST realize in order to win - Americans are stupid and uninformed. This is very important because in order to win we must understand the way the average American thinks. I'm afraid WE have nothing in common with them.

I came to the two following conclusions when I saw the large number of people who voted for Bush back in 2000.

#1 - I would dare to assume that most of us here are in the upper 1%-20% of the population intelligence-wise. We must come to the realization that the majority of the population is in the lower 80% to 99% percent of the bell-curve. WE are not the norm. The Republicans understand that the average American is not very bright. They cater and pander to the masses. The Democratic Party tries to appeal to the population about "issues" that these people just don't understand.

I've heard it said that the reason that Clinton's sex scandal resonated so strongly among "the people" was because it was a scandal that the average American understood. The average person can't understand a financial scandal.

In addition, people of average or lower intelligence tend to not be as logical or reasoned as those of higher intelligence - they deal with emotion. Therefore they are more likely to get riled up about someone burning a flag rather than a illogical tax cut.

#2 - The majority of people do not read the newspaper OR listen to the news, CNN, etc. Therefore -they get their news from the Tonight Show, Letterman, Oprah and Saturday Night Live. Or, they get their news from talking to their co-workers at the water cooler.

Also, for the few people who DO listen to the news - who do they hear it from? Fox News and Bill O'Reilly are the most popular. Most newspapers and media outlets are owned by Republicans.

Here is #3.

BTW I live a sheltered life? LOL!!! I have lived on my own for the last 13 years and am a sigle father. I hardly live a sheltered life. LOL!!! 2fast come on bro. Do you really want to challenge me on this? LOL!!! You are in a Uni that is a completely sheltered life. LOL ;)

indeed it is. i made the topic that you like to use small examples to create generalizations about whole groups of people, for examples see above ;) i could care less what these forum pissers say because it doesnt mean anything and i dont agree with them either. so there.

I didn't generalize. I posted just the worst I saw from DU. They have a very active hatred of Bush there. They don't even hide it. I was only targeting the posters at DU. That is why I quoted them. ;)

Don't we all shelter our opinions? ;) Also it is not as if I don't know how or what the left thinks. I am well versed in their rhetoric.

Ok these liberals are sooo full of love. Does that make you feel better? BTW I do generalize when it comes to active liberals, because it is so easy and I have no problem with it. You are just trying to distance your self from these wackos. :D

From now on my jabs, rants and flames are directed in a blanket and general direction at liberals. The more liberals I can encompass the better. These jabs and rants include the extreme left to the moderate liberal. I just want to be clear and to be sure I don't leave any lefty out. LOL ;) :p

are you sure that those are democratic beliefs? i thought #2 on that list applies to how the republicans think most ppl are in the US since they did con the American ppl into a war of aggression with fairy-tale-like stories and fear mongering tactics (orange alert, gimme a break. where are the WMDs!!). every time there is a high alert staus in the US it becomes easier to control the sheep since there is a heightened sense of fear that they are under seige. the repub.'s believe they can feed the American ppl any type of b/s imaginable to justify their crusade and that it will be bought by a ppl that has a hard time thinking for itself. i don't know if they are wrong in that belief either. Bush et al fed the American ppl lies and half-truths and they succeeded in gaining support for a war. they have contempt for the American ppl since they feel they have to stoop to using those tactics in order to enact their foreign policy. :D

Bush and his cadre of neo-cons in the Pentagon assumed that Americans are idiots and that they will belive that they are being threatened daily by WMDs that are ready to be launched at an instant's notice against their country ... hmm, it was successful, too, since the ppl did support the war. :D

in the UK, where Blair fed his ppl the same half-truths as Bush did, there has been a backlash against him and his gov't. why? perhaps their ppl are a bit more informed and worldly than many Americans are. they were able to see through the story telling to the truth, and were able to make a judgement for themselves.

Hey man, if Saddam hadn't been uncooperative and produced what happened to those WMD then perhaps action never would've been necessary. A war of aggression... what a crock.

Orange alerts and whatnot are absolutely necessary. It's very simple really... Because if anything were to happen and we didn't have some sort of system in place like that the people would freak out and the "other side" (be it dem or repub) would come back screaming about how they didn't prepare. The politicians are simply covering their arses with it, which makes perfect sense to me.
