You'll find that there are a few musicians on the board here. I am just learinig the basics of the axe. I bought myself a Dean Baby V, modelled after the Flying V, of course. I am a drummer by nature, however, having taught myself over the last 6 years. Also have a bunch of years behind the ivories as well. Music is my life. Serath will also respond linking to his band's page :D

Yep, I play a Fender American Strat. I am thinking about ordering a new Deluxe American Strat with an Invader pickup and two lipstick pickups.:D

I play guitar, keyboards (some), bass, and I also do a lot of electronic stuff.

I have an American Strat, and Kramer (strat-style) with EMG select pickups (2 single-coil and 1 humbucker), an Ibanez 4 string bass, and a Roland XP-80 keyboard.

I would *like* to get a Korg Trinity Workstation keyboard, a Paul Reed Smith guitar (drool...), and I also need a mixing board...

So many toys....so little money....*sigh*

from my experiecne and most of my friends, you have to start with lessons. basic lessons, but take them to the point where they don't become so boring they just drain your desire to play music. if you don't have the desire you'll never play good. after you are able to read notes, tablature, stuff like that, drop the lessons. teach yourself, download tabs and stuff off internet. most of all just make it fun and desireable to play, so download tabs for music you like. of course lessons allow you to become very good, but whats the use if you don't enjoy what you are doing. my friends that have had parents forced them to take lessons for 5+ years, they end up quitting, and just forget how to play. on the other hand, i have friends who just take lessons for a year or less, and they play on their own, and they play really well and do it because they want to.

Thank you, Exit ;)

now for me... I'm a drummer (play a pearl 5pc with expansions)
I like to play guitar... ppl say I'm good but I know I could be LOTS better. I've got a Jackson Kelly (KE-3) deep metallic blue, and a B.C. Rich NJ Warlock... black :) sexxxy...
and I play a little bit of bass. Just a junky little Kay P-bass that I got as boot in a trade.

I like music :)

Edit::::::::::::: if you want a place to start learning how to play, hang around ppl who DO play (that's how I started). That way you can actually see what they do, observe their techniques, etc etc. GO get an instrument you're interested in learning and practice the stuff you saw them play. Tabulature (tabs) are also a great way to start once you learn the terminology, the tabs will show you step by step, finger by finger (or limb by limb for percussion) ummm... Yeah just hang out with ppl who play, practice what you see them do, and check out some tabs. Also learn some terminology about the instrument... DO that and you're good to go.
