ADDED CARDS: He'll also take 9700P/9800 cards...

I know this may be hard...

but:

... um, if I can find this guy a real 5900 non ultra (not an SE), I get the 5800 Ultra...

I was gonna dish out cash and well... I dunno, read the thread I linked to ...

If someone here can sell me one, great... If someone here can find me a good deal on the net, great...

I REALLY want this card, and am VERY close to having it.... I just gotta find a 5900 non ultra... (I say again, he doesn't want an SE)...

I will be SO grateful if I get some help on this...

I gots me a real bad feeling about that deal JG, I really do. :(

You're looking for a 5800 Ultra, right? The original dustbuster? What are you prepared to pay? (And I'll look for a 5900 NP too, even though I'm voting against the deal it's your call and I'll do what I can to help. :) )

EDITED BITS: I found a nice Gainward 5800 Ultra golden sample for $279 (http://www.computerhq.com/hardware/partinfo-id-7267.html)....

EB2: BFG 5900 $186 ? (http://www.compuhq.com/bfgasge5912d.html)

Check your PM Rage, sent you a link to the 5800U for $212, which makes that guy's used one a rip-off for $200!

I'd take a retail 5800U for up to $220.

Look, you know that walk that Jason does in the Friday the 13th movies, where hes in pursuit, but walking, but still going faster then his victims are running?? Yeah, well I'm Jason, and the 5800U is the victim.

...I won't stab the 5800U though... :p

I sent you a PM with a link to OEM one for $212, so you don't need to walk like Jason after one. I'd rather have white box than used.
You just need to click "Buy".

If you don't like that you could buy any of the 5800 NUs and run them at U speed. Mine did, and I've never heard of one that didn't.

I don't think you should do other deal, I think you should get new GFFX 5800 that Rollo suggested. Seems like much better idea and about same price :)

I know the 5200 Ultra debacle is still fresh in your mind :POKE: but, umm, as long as Target is not mistaken/lieing like other vendor, it should be ok.

guys, I have the PNY FX5800 which accordingly uses referrence nvidia design, this card is awesome, allows me to overclocked to Ultra speed w/o any whinning at all, and more importantly cheaper price and less the real "dust-buster" thing which is louder than any FX5800 non-ultra. It's serving me well till today, and I can benchmark 3dmark2003 scoring 57xx+ at default settings on a P-IV 2.4C

Dang... $168...

Yeh, I've pretty much dropped the used Ultra situation... This might be nice... real nice...

I'm a little foggy on something though... do the non-ultra's have DDR1 and not DDR2 memory?

.. I think I'm gonna grab one of these... I think... I'm sure it'd OC at least decently...

Rollo

The 5800 NUs have DDR2 set to run at 400MHz. The OC utility in the nVidia drivers allowed me to run mine at 503MHz.
I would spend $30 more and get a new one, or that OEM Ultra, if I were you.
Perhaps the reason this one is a refurb is someone else had been running it at 500/500 and it doesn't work quite right now.

I bought a Zalman fan to bolt above mine and keep the air churning around, but I've never seen or heard of one not OCing to Ultra speed.

With 5900NUs at $200, and having a lot more memory bandwidth anyway, this would seem a moot point?
