I currently have a PNY Verto FX5600 Ultra and i seen that a PNY 5900 128MB goes for around 250 and some change. Im thingking about going with that Card. But even if its 128 meg ram. Is it an Ultra and will it give me a performance change over my existing FX5600 Ultra?

Yeah, it'll be a nice upgrade, probably around twice as fast, since the memory bus bitrate is double your current card.

5600Ultra to 5900 is a nice upgrade, you'd be going from a 128bit memory bus to a 256bit memory bus. But where are you shopping? The 5900SE can be had for $190us, and the slightly faster 5900NU for about $200us, both at http://www.newegg.com

First off i want to give a shout to Edge. What going on man? and i boaght it a Circuit City for around 229 and some change. Im overclocking this card to around 900 MHZ DDR from the 850 and Core to around 450 which are Ultra like speeds so im happy and i can play UT2K3 at 1280 960 with 8x AF and 4x AA just fine.

All 5900 Ultras have 256MB memory I think, and as for performance?

5600U = 4X1 or 2X2 pixel pipeline depending on what needs doings. 1 vertex shader, erm somewhere around 10-9 gb./ec memory bandwidth

5900=8X1 or 4X2 pixel pipeline depending on what needs doing, 3 vertex shaders, i dunno but around 20 gb/sec? memory bandwidth (or is that too much?).

basically, the 5900 will kill the 5600U and will be good upgrade :D you can play at higher resolutions with higher combinations of AA and AF and get away setting the in game graphics options in the game to the highest!

Ive noticed that in UT2k3. The damn thing runs very good i even ran it at 1280 960 with 8XAA and 8XAF and it ran decent i will try 1600 1200.

Im very happy with this card and will probably not upgrade for atleast a year or so.

The 5900se would be a good upgrade.
