Are these new beta drivers for the 30.xx series or new official ones for the 30.xx drivers
as i cant find them on the nvidia website so they must be new beta drivers

anyone know ??

...but I could have SWORE that my BD was in April?

THESE are the drivers I was waiting for! I thought I was waiting for the 40.71 set, but these are much nicer on my GF3. I'm scoring +100 in 3dm2k1se, +1min +5avg in DroneZ, and I do NOT have that weird screen glitch anymore when starting d3d apps that was present in the 40.41 & 40.71 set for me.

UT2k3 in d3d & NOLF2 hasn't locked up on me yet, but it's too soon to call on that one. (The UT2k3 benchmark liked these drivers a tad better than the 40.xx series too.)

These drivers feel a whole lot more "polished" than the 40.xx set, 'specially on my older card. I'd recomend them to anyone running a GF3 over the 40.xx series. :)

BTW-There's a new Riva Tuner 2.0 RC12 available for download over at www.guru3d.com ;)

I downloaded and installed these new 30.87 drivers and they work with all my old games as well as new games. I have tried the 40.xx drivers and have decided to stay away from them until I see that they can run older games. If the 40.xx's never work with older games I'll stay with the 30.87's and when its time to upgrade my Video card I guess it'll have to be an ATI 9700 Pro.

Blech. NOLF2 still locks for me with these, I'm going back to the 23.11's for a while and see if it's the drivers or something else with my rig.

Just for a giggle I installed these.. wow.. 2d and 3d IQ is much better. Especially 2d...
I was using the 40.71's I do believe. wont any more.
guess it is better to stay with official drivers than beta..
now and then.. ;)

Maybe you're just pushing a GF3 well past it's limits and there's finally some games that'll stress it more than it's supposed to be stressed? Why don't you try clocking back "Bubbles" a bit and see if that takes care of your problem?

ive been using the 3082's with both my systems, one has a geforce 4 ti 4600 and the other a geforce 3 ti 500 and they seem to work with all my games. no glitches or anything of the unusall. i tried the 40xx's and they both messed up a few of my games.

Isn't the GF3 supposed to run at 200 core?
He has it at 240, and is complaining about lockups? *COUGH*. Uh.... well gee...
I fully agree with you. NOLF2 locked up on my TI 4600 @ 320 core, backed it down to 310 and no more lockups until I finished the demo and uninstalled it :)

I can't believe he's complaining about lockups UNTIL he actually tests the card at spec, then goes up slowly from there. Lockups at spec are bad.

Yeah, what a ghey little snit he is! :p

The GF3 is rather highly modified and has been going at 240/530 for over a year maybe two, I'm littleZ's (my GF3's name, I didn't name her but I kept it.) second owner. Her original owner is the one who modded her and found her boundaries of 240/530....I've gotten her as high as 245/540. ;) But 230/520 is pretty zippy too.

BTW-I wasn't really bitching, I was just trying to humorously present what fixed my lock-up problems for me...but I'm gonna pretend you noticed that I was quoting myself.... ;) )

hi,
Are these drivers going to be official drivers for normal download anyone know ?

I don't know how they compare to any other dets, but these suckers rock like a sonny-bicth for me in the full version of UT2k3!!!

I maxxed out EVERYTHING, (well, I turned off shadows...I hate shadows), and was still getting 30-40 fps on big loaded maps on Bubbles. (My gaming rig, see sig...change GF3 clock to 235/515 lately. ;) ) No artifacts, smooth as glass; VERY sweet!

I actually got to play the game for about 5-6 hours last night, (sleep is an entirely insufficient substitute for caffeine!), and was just blown away at how well and seemlessly everything worked out with these drivers!

Kudos driver dev peeps, nice job!

Please just imagine that all my rants/hypes/enthusiasms for this driver set was really about the 31.40 set...I think I've got them confused.

The 31.40 set is all that and a bag of chips in 98se for me!

I had problems with the 31.40 set. I always get crashes to a blank screen, with NOLF2. UT2003 may crash the same way, but really only does with any 40.xx driver for me.

NOLF2 can't handle the 40.xx set. It's almost always imminent that it will crash to a blank screen, sometimes a reboot, during a game session. Maybe 30 minutes through, to an hour, but it will eventually.

I'm running 30.82 right now, and am going to try 30.87 I think. UT2003 seems to run them fine with no crashes so far. But I have witnessed a few crashes with NOLF2, far less however than any driver above 30.82.

It's ridiculous really. I'm not overclocking anything, running a Gainward GeForce4 Ti 4600 at default speeds, and an Athlon XP 1900+ on an nForce system.

It is possible downclocking may prevent imminent lockups after a while, I've tried it, but come on, why should I have to reduce the performance of a video card such as this just so I can have a stable gaming platform?

The fact is, nVIDIA needs to shape up these recent drivers. They need to go into these games more, UT2003 and NOLF2, games they even promoted by hosting demos of on their web site, and find out what is causing these lockups and crashes.

It's a bit mind boggling that these new games which each sport great new technology that looks great, can stress the video card so much that it simply hangs on you and waits for you to hit the reset.

Oh well, nVIDIA will come around, they always do, just as they will with the NV30. I'll admit ATI's new product looks impressive, but I'm simply going to stay with the best, where I get constant driver updates even if they are beta, and even if some have problems.

There's always a set out there for everyone though, the key is finding and testing the right ones.

Well all hope seems lost for me. 30.87 drivers crash UT2003, and also the 30.82 drivers are crashing UT2003. NOLF2 still crashes with 30.82, although I didn't notice it crash when testing 30.87. It would have crashed, most certainly. I went back to the 30.82 though. Nothing works. I need a new hobby...
