NOOOOOO!!!!

Get yourself a good GF4ti (NOT MX!!!) instead. You can probably find one for cheaper, and it's a MUCH better card.

Agreed. Or find a cheap non XT 5600.

5200 = teh n0es!! :p

Get a GF3 for $40-$60 (heck, I even have one I'd sell ya)
or get a GF4ti for $50 (if yer lucky) to $90 or so...
or spring for just over 100 and get a true 5600, not an XT...

btw, whether anyone likes to admit it or not, that 7500 is still a pretty strong card... :) ... and it would probably whup the snot outta that 5200 you're talking about, cuz that 5200 prolly has the 64 bit memory bus...

Argh, no that's even worse! Didn't you read what digitalwanderer said? NOT AN MX!

If you're so limited by your budget, stick with what you have and save your money for a GeForce FX 5600 Ultra or Radeon 9600 Pro. Those will be much better than what you have or any of the alternatives you're suggesting.

Again, NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! It's worse than your current one.

There is a huge, huge, HUGE difference between a GF4ti and a GF4mx....the GF4ti's rock, the GFmx suck.

Lemme go poke around on pricewatch and see what I can find real quick, a GF3 will beat a GF4mx440! (Honest, stay the F-WORD away from the cheap FXs and the GF4mx! )

You could consider a GF4 ti4200 for $79 (http://www.gameve.com/gve/Store/ProductDetails.aspx?sku=VC-GA-001) or spend $10 more and get a 128Mb GF4 ti4200 for $90 (http://www.gameve.com/gve/Store/ProductDetails.aspx?sku=VC-ALBA-01).

I'd post more, but www.pricewatch.com is acting all squirrly tonight. :(

you donot want a FX5200

get a GF4 TI4200 128DDR for $90, FX5600 Ultra for $130, or FX5700 Non-ultra for $148

If you wanna go Nvidia, that's their best budget cards right now. The GF4TI will give you the best overall performance from my list, but the FX cards will give you better DX9 performance. And the FX5700 is considerably better than the FX5600 Ultra, but if you're on a tight budget then the FX5600Ultra should do for at least 800x600 resolution, or even 1024x768 assuming you're not an AA/AF ethusiast.

prices from http://www.newegg.com

OK, I'm going to sit down for this one. How is your being dumb with your money our fault exactly? Please enlighten me for I would so ever like to know. Even then, I might consider thinking about caring if you actually posted in coherent English sentences.

I find it quite amusing that you would actually think that I would blame you for my financial insecurities. Sarcasm has apparently not hit these forums before. My most sincere apologies

8500.

this young people vernacular is lost on the old farts (including myself) so if you want to convey your thoughts you're better off using correct grammar and then implying sarcasm through the proper medium.

good luck

The GF4TI 4600 is an EXCELLENT card, you wont be disappointed. The only problem may arrise if you purchase DX9 games in the future. You may want to purchase a FX5900SE instead for $188us (http://www.newegg.com). If you can afford a GF4 TI4600 which sell for around $150us these days, the superiro FX5900 isn't much more.

But if you are on a stricter budget, you could consider the FX5700 I suggested earlier in this post, it's $148us (http://www.newegg.com) and about on par with a GF4 TI4200 stock speed in DX8, and considerably better than any GF4TI in DX9 performance.

And yes, your sarcasim was definetly lost by us ;)
