View Full Version : Corsair XMS2400 2x256 in an A7N8X Deluxe 1.02... what to expect?
All the reviews for this ram are kinda old... pre nforce2... but I've heard that corsair's ram does pretty good with nforce2 mobo's...
This is 150/300 cas2.0 ram...
My samsung 166/333 cas2.5 ddr does 200 no probs in my 8RDA, and also in a Chaintech 7NJL1 and a Bistar MC7ND...
should I expect the same from this ram?
The Corsair that I picked up works like a charm w/my Abit NF7-S 2.0 - something you might want to look out for is that the Optimal settings for memory in the BIOS weren't agressive enough and were causing problems. If I left my PC alone for 10 minutes after booting up, it would freeze solid. If I did something with it immediately, then I experienced no problems. I did a search for the rated memory timings and upped my timings appropriately. Haven't had a problem with it since.
Wow.. I've never heard of such a thing, memory that needs aggressive timings:)
Now I remember why I love Corsair memory so much:D
well, that cas2 @ PC2400 basically means those chips probably could be sold as cas2.5 PC2700, or MAYBE cas3.0 PC3200...
I think I'll try it out shortly in my already assembled 8RDA+ ...
